  1. This is great stuff, Art - nice job with the pics, the composition is super!
  2. Nice ones, William - the second one is especially interesting!
  3. Ric

    ID on this one

Always nice when a name fits!
  4. That's a JABO Classic "Sweet Potato Pie", Bill - I forget the year.
  5. A "Pistachio" variant is my take on it.
  6. As usual, I want seconds . . . 🙂 The best part of this marble is that little bit of Ravenswood history showing under the blue in the top two pics and scattered in much smaller bits throughout the marble. I just picked it up at the Decatur, IL. Pride of the Prairie Marble Show yesterday, for many years now, organized by none other than @Chuck G. Unfortunately, I missed the last two shows. Some of my best marble purchases have come from this show. It tends to be attended by many long time regulars and the amount of marble knowledge represented is remarkable. And there are always great marbles available. If you can make it for room trading tonight or the show tomorrow, I'd highly recommend it.
  7. FWIW, that's how I always think about it. It makes the difference between a "clear base" and an orange transparent, red transparent, yellow transparent base, etc., more "clear". lol
  8. I could see Champion, and sure similar to, but not really a furnace marble.
  9. No CAC - I'd guess Alley too.
  10. I just noticed, third pic down, the pattern looks like some crazy guy wearing glasses - pretty cool. 🙂 JABO used a lot of red transparent glass and some of their Classics can be very nice - I think this might be one of them.
  11. This appears to be a machine made marble that got "spun" - I don't think that is a real pontil, although it sure looks like it might be. As for maker, I have an idea or two but I'm interested to hear what others have to say about this one.
  12. I do think it could well be a big Akro Moss Agate.
  13. I think it's an Akro Corkscrew that ate it's tail.
  14. I think this one may be JABO.
  15. I'm leaning Heaton . . .
  16. it's Alley, and it is "flamey" but I don't think it qualifies as a full-fledged Flame. They really should have 5 stacked flame tips minimum.
