They are just single snake-like stripes on the surface or inside the glass. I don't have pics handy but I'll try to remember to post a few tomorrow.

It does looks a bit like a Master but I wonder about other possibilities - let's see what others say.

Yes it does but I think it's JABO. Snakes are Akros or Cairos.

Welcome the Marble Connection, Bill, pleased to see you. I retired last year too, after serving as a Professor of Biology and Biomedical Engineering for about 25 years. Now I mainly work around the homestead, play with marbles, and fly fish when I can.

Thanks for the pic. Faceted pontils are notoriously tough to photograph and it's hard for me to tell for sure. It does look like it's a flat spot, but it seems a little off to me.

Not unusual, colored glass can take on different looks when it spreads thin over base glass. It just depends on its composition, colorant wise.
