Neat articles and interesting info about adding English to a shot. I have to believe there are some young marble shooters today who would enjoy and perhaps benefit by reading them. The kid in the first article must've gussied up for his photo shoot. I can't imagine he typically shot marbles in a fancy suit and wingtips. 🙂

This is pretty common on other Vitros and Peltiers too, Fire. Less common on Akros and Masters, I think.

It looks more like a Whispler or other foreign marble to me.

Straight on shots of the seams are helpful when IDing these types in particular and the marbles are not in focus so it's hard to see detail. I could guess but I won't.

It looks modern to me.

The first looks like an Akro - kin to a Lifesaver. The second looks JABO to me.

Of course, you're right . . . The distance between the "cut line" and the "shadow line" is equal to the length of the base, where θ represents the angle of the knife's bevel and altitude is equal to the thickness of the blade. In nerd words, B-C = A-B * tan(θ). 🙂 Note: There are a variety of assumptions and variables here that I am not interested in accounting for.

I've got all kinds of neat smooth cullet shapes from Alley but the closest thing I've ever seen to a "Loop" is a closed ring made by a molten glass stream just happening to land right. Did Craig make that Loop intentionally or was it just luck?
