They are brown based (varying shades) with black ribbons. Vacor made one that is sometimes condused for a Pelt, and they often have thinner stripes and look more like a Miller type. If you google image "peltier chocholate cow" there are a variety of good examples (and a few that are not Cows).

I thought "Ringers" were essentially like a Popeye with white and one color instead of two - no fire like Aces and no "mossy" glass like Moss Agates. Although, "Ringer" was a box name, as far as I recall, and there may have been more than one type of marble put in that type of box?

The colotrs are a litle different than I am used to seeing but I completely agree.

I want to say I have seen similar somewhere but . . . ?

That one is killer, Ann. I am leaning CAC away from Alley. I think Ravenswood is unlikely. But It is a great marble, regardless.

The top 10 marbles from the run must be killers. And I do see that type of indentation (fine cold rolling) on a lot of "spun" marbles, vintage and new. I think "Superman" just references the color combination not a particular marble type. There are Akro, Alley, and Peltier Supermans, right? Don't know that I have ever seen or heard of a Vitro Superman. And although I may have seen Multicolor Swirls with superman colors, I am unlikely to mistake them for these, that's for sure.

Nice marbles, some of my favorites, for sure. Ann, I think Mibstified's mib (third row, right) is an Alley. And Marboman, I would want to see another view or two of the left one but the right looks like an Alley to me too.

Did Peltier ever market aventurine or "sparkle" or anything similar? If they produced it intentionally and consistently, it seems they would have benefited by doing so.

I suppose it is only a marble by the broadest definition. But being hand made, it is certainly art by almost any definition. Personally, I think it is beautiful and an excellent example Alloway's art.

I played marbles quite a bit as a kid in the 60s. On rainy days, we played ringer inside using string to make the ring.

I thought Bananas were first too. But perhaps we need to more clearly define Cat's Eyes because I have also heard the term applied to the single-vane Masters, some of which I think were also quite early.

Oh wow, I'm really glad I asked. I like the big shooter swirl in yours. But makes me wonder even more about their QC - 11 + shooter? The others are great, too, bad they have Pelts in them. lol I would like to see the green one up close - it's really nice!

Very nice marble - in need of a bath. The base looks green to me too, which also explains why it looks brownish where the color is just below the surface.

It seems strong electromagnetic fields could have some effect on animals and other living things but I have no idea what, if anything, is documented. Grab that tube and just think about it like stepping into the matrix . . .
