  1. Yes only the white translucsent glass has the texture.A wide band on one side and another narrow band on the otherside. In full sun it looks like brilliant aventurine except it's White. Thanks for your comment, enough about this one.Just wondering if it might be the Glassonix glass you were talking about. Not a dug marble as far as I can tell.
  2. I'm curious about the glassonix reference.I posted this marble in the ID section and first thoughts were a bloody or tracer type that had been damaged by CLR.After taking better pics I will submit this for a second reveiw.I am no expert but in my opinion this appears to be an experimental, maybe an alternative to aventurine since it is fabulous in direct sunlight.Glassonix? If this marble had been damaged by CLR wouldn't either the red or white ribbon be gone?At any rate I do believe iot to be an experimental. What do you think?
  3. What a great marble making process. The water makes the concave fixture, then set in the square tube and the rubber wheel rolls the marble in it.Those guys are some Jedi marble makers for sure! I am totally impressed:)
  4. I may have, but that's not enough to make someone an expert in itself.I collect mostly machine-mades and what knowledge I have or think I have is in that area.I would expect an expert to have knowledge of all marble types,handmade,machine-mades,contemp etc.An expert might also answer yes to #3,4,and 5 of Rich's list.
  5. Yes,that first one offends me too!I can't believe how many years I've been collecting these things. What the hell's wrong with me?.... LOL!

  8. Yes I agree also. Here in Reno we have several flea markets and antique shows .I love to go and see what is available,It's always different.Yesterday I went to an antique show and there were lots of marbles, had to look at them all most were junk but I did find these in a two dollar bin.I saw a basket full of large carpet balls, maybe 12 of them, selling for $100 ea. a little high? They looked like the real deal.
