  1. Then why did you go look at your Jabo's for aventurine? These mountaineers have Yellow Aventurine! Some have some pretty nice drizzle too.If you talked to Sturtz you know what they are, he knows all about them.
  2. David,I have just shown you that I have a Jabo Indian Blanket that looks like a Golden Rebel,to me, with Orange aventurine and your not going to challenge that? I believe there may have been a few pre-special special runs don't you think? Nothing wrong with that,I love them.Sturtz knows about them we talked on the telephone about them.
  3. David.I would expect a Golden rebel to have a good amount of black aventurine, some don't and I don't know whether it affects the value or not.But the the Jabo Indian Blanket I posted has orange aventurine.Do you think that since the marble has aventurine at all would further confuse a new collector? The aventurine is not like the new Jabo aventurine,It is finer but easily visible in sunlight
  4. Here is the backside,no buttcrack,of the marble Jabo Indian blanket?Looks sorta golden reblesssh. It does have aventurine! It has a good amount of orange aventurine!Pretty cool JABO And none of the little hit marks you guys were talking about earlier.Very clean
  5. Thanks Steph for mentioning that, you know I love to talk about this.On the Indian Blankets I have found pink aventurine, the Mountaineers have yellow aventurine. The volcano's have a peach aventurine like the one I posted
  6. Clueless, the first marble you have there is what aventurine looks like on a white marble.I have a NLR around here somewhere that is white with aventurine ribbons,no base color.Did they run out of color or just an error?
  7. Thanks David. The marble is from the 2004 Superman run ,I think. It is much more convincing in hand. The size wouldn't be a red flag either. This marble is not a problem to an experienced Peltier collector but could be a problem for a new collector,IMO Some of Jabo's finest work, nothing wrong with it.
  8. Here is a nice one,size 3/4".Best I can do,I don't have a 3/4" golden Rebel to put side by side with this.Or do I?
  9. Thank you Felicia,I love purple too. They say it's the color of Royalty
  10. Gene you scored! Ya need your VEETS!
  11. Don't get too excited David, this is all just theroretical but when I read this artical I understood that a marble is an art work that hits us on all levels, including primitive, emotional, dislike or "Yes that's it!"
  12. Thought some might be interested Article by Betty Edwards, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, p231 Placing color in the brain Given sufficient light to percieve colors, scientists also tell us that the brain's reaction to colors seem to depend on the differences in thinking modes of the various sections of the brain. Very bright, intense colors (and colors that shine and glitter) draw a response from the so-called "primitive" brain, the limbic systems. This response is an emotional one, perhaps connected to our biological heritage of color as communication. For example, many people say, "When I get mad, I see red!" The inverse of this exclamation perhaps describes the situation whereby an intense red elicits an emotional, aggresive response. The main role of L-mode, generally located in the left hemisphere, is to tag colors with names and attributed, such as "bright blue," "lemon yellow," or "burnt umber," and to translate into words our emotional reactions to colors. Additionally, L-mode is specialized for designating sequenced steps in mixing colors- for example, "to mix orange, add yellow to red," or "to darken blue, add black." The right hemisphere (or R-mode) is specialized for the perception of relationships of hues, particularly for subtle linkages of one hue to another. R-mode is biased toward discovering patterns of coherence, specifically toward combinations of hues that balance opposites- for example, red/green, blue/orange, dark/light, dull/bright. In his 1976 essay "The Dialectics of Color," Dr. Peter Smith states: "Since the right hemisphere has a strong interest in the way things fit together to form a closed system, it may be said to be a decisive factor in the esthetic response." This closed system may be what artists speak of as unified, harmonious color- that is, color in relationship that are locked into balance. Perhaps R-mode recognizes the satisfying wholeness of properly unified color and reacts with a pleasurable sence of "Yes. That's it. That's right." The converse is also tru: R-mode recognized unbalanced or disunified color arrangements and perhaps longs for unity and the missing parts of the closed system. An individual may experiance this longing as vague dislike- a sence that something is missing or out of place. R-mode has another important role in color: seeing which combination of colors has produced a particular color. Given a range of grays, for example, R-mode sees which one is warmed with red, which is cooled with blue. Hope you enjoy, from a favorite Art book.bo
  13. Give this a try. Find a well built ,inconspicuous box.Get some 1/2" foam and back it with cardboard.I make the holes 5/8".These are not brag boxes but alot of marbles can be stored safely. The white foam shows of the marbles well.
  14. Here are some additional cat's.Steph the marble you liked, black and white is really black, white and light blue.Top right hand corner, below that row of cross threws.Have a great day.
  15. Alley,be sure to look for aventurine while your searching. You will find it in the green hy-brids mostly but check them all outside in the full sun.The green and blue cat's pictured have it ,that other marble is just a favorite of mine,no aventurine, have fun.
