Here's a pic of both types, I think they are different. Maybe if they are side by side it will be easier to tell. Maybe the redish amber one isn't the same type of mib?? Man, now my head hurts! lol God Bless!
-
ok, so here's where I think your right maybe, partly anyway and I was off. lol When I first looked this mib over it really looked like a red base. And, side by side with the other 7ups I have, it's definately not green like they are, but... After I got your pm tonight I went back and got my flashlight out and lit this mib up again. I think I was looking at the red that is underneath the surface making it look red. Here's the wierd thing though, it doesn't look green, it's more of a light amber or light brownish clear base, I think. Definately not the green like the others. Could it look off just because more red swam under the surface on this one and it's making the base color look different? Or did they make others like the 7ups with different bases? And, if they did, what color bases did they use for this pattern? I guess you weren't being a turd afterall! lol Sorry dear! God Bless!

The Marble Connection On The Collectors Weekly
glangley replied to JessicaLewis's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
What about known marble scammers ebay id's they use frequently.... oops did I say too much! lol God Bless! -
Just wanted to share this with you all, as like it or not, some of you have become family to me. This was made by Ken Schneidereit for me in memory of my father who passed away in '07. His birthday was just last month and he was and will always be a Detriot Tigers Baseball fan, which is the "D" under his name on the baseball mib. I don't have it in hand just yet and I hope Ken doesn't mind me posting his pic, he takes better pictures than I ever could anyway. lol Plus, maybe it could spark a sale or two for him. God bless you all.

Do You Ever Wonder Where They Are Now?
glangley replied to Steph's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Steph, thanks for posting these pics, they are truly wonderful. They remind me of some of Patry's works. Just beautiful! Hope you are feeling better Felicia! God bless and healing prayers your way dear! -
Boy, that marble has a definate wierd look to it. Is it ground like Alan said or maybe polished or did they really make marbles that look so odd? Just curious, it's a good looking marble but something just seems off here. God Bless!

WHATT! JABO ULTRA?!? And I am just finding this out? Man, those are sweet, and a couple really do look like the Foxies. What a stellar job Burt! Who was in on this run if you can say? Nice, the whole left side of that triangle blows my mind, but what really grabbed my attention in the pic was the minty white color flame in the center! I don't think that is a color I have seen before in the Jabo runs. Anyone know for sure if it's a new color? Man, nice job! God Bless!

Very cool! So all those crazy colored clays I have are possibly Albright mibs. That is cool! Bonus! God Bless!

My computer is being a turd today, but I will get some pics of the red base tomorrow. Cool info on the Kokomos! And very true!! God Bless! Aha! I got it, here is the pic:
-
Two quick questions from a rookie: Did Kokomo make bloodies? or something similair enough to make it hard to distinguish between a pelt bloodie and a kokomo? And.... A pelt 7-up with the transparent green is cool, but what do you call the same looking mib only with transparent red base instead of transparent green? Cherry 7-up? Just curious as I found some mibs that look like bloodies in my new box, and I have 7-ups with green and red bases. Any idea's?? Thanks in advance and God Bless!

A Little Something(s) I Picked Up This Past Week
glangley replied to glangley's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Yeah Felicia, I don't get out very often but when I do, I try to capitalize on the affair! hehe! I posted the pic of the little orange mib just because it looks so neat, but I have no idea what or who made it. I think it was a good haul, and cheap too, thank the good Lord! lol I am a novice but I think I have lots of different types, from Kokomo's to Pelts and Vacor to Alley, a couple German handmades and maybe even one or two Christiansens? Another favorite that came in that box is a really neat light green with some translucent spots with a swipe or patch of yellow. It looks like another in the box but the other one is a deeper green and more translucent with a yellow patch. Maybe peerless? There are a few mibs that have some hits on them but most are excellent in condition with no visible damage at all! I was so stoked when my buddy called and went over some of the pictures I took, he is so cool and took time out of his day to help out a rookie. I can't wait to head over there again and make my rounds. Hopefully this time they will have found the key to the box with the pink dishes in it. *It also had some straight razor boxes in the case but I have no idea if they were full or not Since I also collect pocket knives and straight razors that place is on the top of my list for next time. God Bless Here is a cool one too, no damage that I can see, maybe a Master? You can also see the light green mib with the yellow patch just above my hand in the box, straight down from the large *Vacor?* Frit mib. The marble bag was a bonus. The bottom is leather and the top is cloth although a bit worn. You can clearly read the markings on the leather part of the bag. It was a give away from the Cadillac Bank here in Michigan! And no, I didn't buy it in Cadillac. That bank probably doesn't exist anymore but I am going to do some checking on it and see what I can find out. The same place that had this bag had a straight razor from Buhl and Sons in Detriot with a matching box. Both items from my home state just makes it that much sweeter! lol God Bless! -
A Little Something(s) I Picked Up This Past Week
glangley replied to glangley's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Very cool Edna, thank you for the id. I really had know idea other than the tell tale Akro symbol on the bottoms. The cornicopia glows like a gem under black light. They have a sugar, creamer and a larger container of some sort at the store there too. I just didn't have the knowledge to know what to pay for them. The prices on these were actually quite low. I also found a set of pinkish colored dishes at a different place, but they couldn't find the key to the display case as the owner was out of town for the weekend. I am not even sure what they wanted for them or just what was behind the tea cups, although I could see they had more than a few pieces in there. God Bless! -

Ot: Have A Great & Safe Memorial Day Weekend!
glangley posted a topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Just wanted to tell everyone that I pray you all have a very happy and safe Memorial day weekend. When you take a moment to reflect on all of those brave young men and women who have given everything they had for this country, say a quiet prayer or blessing, for them and their family's. Say one for the brave still fighting the good fight in a land far from home, and those who guard our shores and homeland. God Bless you all, each and every one. And may God Bless the United States of America. -

Hey, need some clarification here.... Is Grumpy a person or a new mib? > God Bless! -
Love the top pic, top right and top left, also the creamy blue second row down third over in top pic. And! Those peewee's are swa-eet! Nice job guys! Can't wait to get my little paws on this run! God Bless!
-
Can't wait to see some pic's of the whole run! THanks for the response! God Bless!

It seems I have missed some runs that came out of Jabo this year. Ebay now has some mibs listed as FireFox run mibs and they are just eye popping. These are the runs that I know happened so far this year; Tribute to Friendship, March Madness, and Joker Encore & Tank Wash. What are the others runs that have some out this year? Can someone please give me the down low on who, what, and when on what I am missing? lol I know this may sound silly, but please humor a young rookie that is just excited about cool marbles. God Bless everyone!
-
Jane, your tiny marbles are very very neat! I'll keep your hands in my prayers. God Bless!
-
Not sure if it has been said or not, but.... A sink in my bathroom is missing the drain plug, and nice big Jabo fits in there perfect, looks good, and completely stops the water from draining out! lol I have also super-glued some one inchers together in a pyramid shape and can atest to the massage usage! It works great on the back!! God Bless!

I hope there are places doing this, it would be very cool indeed. God Bless

Different Sort Of Vending Machine Labeling
glangley replied to Steph's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
The first place my eye went was the edges of the lables. Unless they are inside, the edges would be picked to death by the kids that actually drempt of twisting the knob but didn't have a coin. And, if they were inside you would see the wear from whatever prize was inside. I'd ask for inside pictures of the backs if these are indeed on the inside of the glass. Just my thoughts, I am in no way a professional antique shopper. God Bless!
