  1. Oh, I`ve always wanted to see one of those in person. Never been at the right place at the right time. Let me know if one ever shows up in your yard!
  2. Thanks! I can now at least say I think the last two are Pelts. It will take someone who knows Heatons better than me to comment on the first one. That said, I like the color combo even if I don`t recognize it by company.
  3. It`s not exactly a word that comes up every day! Would not have known it at all if I weren`t a bird watcher, and still had to think about it for a minute to recall what the word was -
  4. I know! Unfortunately, a few days after I got it I was outbid on one almost exactly like this except red, not green, was the predominate color. Both were sold by marblealan (Alan Basinet) some years ago. Still in mourning over the loss of the red one!
  5. Entirely possible.. But then I have the same problem. I can`t see both cut lines on any of these, except maybe the middle one. So I too decline to hazard a guess. Oh well.

    Leighton ?

Yes! Leighton. They nearly all have something that looks like soot over/in/around the melted pontil, like this. Given the color, it`s probably one of his that was made in Barberton. Hard to find, and very nice. Congrats.
  7. Yes - as soon as Ican get my new camera & (totally unfamiliar Chromebook) laptop working politely together . . .
  8. Great response! I`ve never really studied Vacors, although I have bought a few over the years in order to see what they looked like in person, rather than in photos. This looks convincing to me, even if I did know the OP wasn`t a Pelt Cherry Bomb. I do collect Pelts, although I haven`t yet been able to add a Cherry Bomb to my hoard. Unfortunately.

    Leighton ?

Still need a good head-on shot of the pontil, if there is one. Nice slag.
  10. Nice! Close enough pic now to see the dark eye and faint brown markings, meaning he/she looks like a leukocyte - entirely lacking the black pigmentation - rather than a red-eyed pure white albino. To my knowledge, they are just as rare (if not more so) than an albino. How nice to have such a rare bird as a regular visitor!

    Leighton ?

Can`t tell without a pic of the pontil - Leightons all have melted pontils - nobody else does, to my knowledge.
  12. Please consider my avatar here in this list. Vitro multicolored cat with both green and blue aventurine . . .
  13. Can I join you? I brought my own popcorn.

    pistachio?

I like the "goblin green" as a description!
  15. When there are features like seams, try to include a straight-on shot of that. Sometimes that is the defining feature that can most help ID the marble. Keep posting them! We all like to do this stuff.

    pistachio?

It`s good that the base reacts to UV, but I`m used to seeing a more "flame - y" action, and sharper definition between the brown/black and the green. Maybe it`s just the lighting, but the green isn`t as deep as I expect for a classic Pistachio, either. Wait for Ron to chime in, or cheese . . .
  17. Sorry, hit the wrong button! can`t come up with anything that looks like this, yet.
  18. I know. The shape of the cat`s-eye looks either Master or Vitro, but not the colors or bubbly glass. The only cats I know know of with brown are some made in Mexico, but they are all (that I have or have seen, anyway) of a cpmpletely different shape - regular flat-bladed three- or 4-vaned. A few Bogard cats have a single dark brown vane (and bubbly glass) but I can
  19. Agree, Ron. I haven`t been fortunate enough to visit the Hardys, but I recognized that wall of Akros instantly as theirs, because photos of it are in their first Akro book! It`s not something that, once seen, can ever be unseen!
  20. Yellow MFCs? According to Michael Cohill, they didn`t make those. Since it`s from Clarksburg, they must be Akros. Sure would be a nice box to have, though.
