    Handmade?

I don`t see a pontil in the photos - can you get a close-up of it?

    Handmade?

Me either. But it is machine-made.
  3. Am also leaning toward JABO special run for the middle one. Almost looks like a Lawn Chair, but hard to tell in a photo.
  4. I don`t think it`s a pincher either, but if you look at that spidery cut-off, i think it probably has to be Japanese. Can`t say Yasuda because I don`t know that they made marbles like this. I only have the slag/transitionals and the figure-eights. It`s certainly foreign, anyway.
  5. The syrupy I agree with. But sloppy, in my mind, indicates Akro. Also, Akro - when they started making their own slags - did not particularly try to get a nine-and-tail pattern. So I`m stickin` with Akro, with a slight chance of MFC. Anyhoo, it`s a nice slag, no matter who.
  6. I`d say yes. The amber ones look like my MFCs. A few of the blues. Maybe a couple of the greens. IMO.
  7. MFC is possible. My MFCs are more clearly defined than this one; white more solid, 9 very evident/solid, and very smooth cut line the same. Basically, not so wispy. On the other hand, Akro didn`t usually use as much white as this. So I guess I`m about 80% Akro and 20% MFC. `Course, there are those darned exceptions to every rule, in marbles.
  8. Me either. From these pics, anyway. New ones welcome!
  9. Glad I found this thread again. akroorka, mine is not an insert box, which is what you`re asking about, but my box of Pelt Cerises has metal corner reinforcements just like those shown on your insert box. FWIW.
  10. Anything that has bacon on it is a friend of mine. I think I have one of the blue-based ones too - oh shucks, now I`ll have to get out my Alleys. Life is hard.
  11. I would be inclined to your yellow banana in amber glass being right, except for one thing - the Peltier Honey Amber cat has unusually flawless glass - no bubbles, no small debris, and your example seems to have some small bubbles. I could be wrong - there are exceptions to everything. Maybe the few others who have the Honey Amber will chime in.

    Hello

    Yep. Just settle in!

    Hello

You will be very welcome here! Check out the Archives and Steph`s Study Hall. Lots there, but only the starting point. We used to have a London collector here, but she doesn`t seem to have posted in some time, unfortunately. So welcome in.
  14. Yes, I just saw that bacon thread, too. Was startled, in an ESP sort of way! Everybody who`s following this thread, check out Ron`s bacon. Well, you know what I mean.
  15. That`s what caused me to fall in love with the old Germans first. Only when I had a nice sampling of as many types as I could get my hands on did I start to see the attractions of other types of marbles. But I still have a pretty soft spot for the old Germans. OK, a very soft spot.
  16. Maybe somewhere around the bacon family? I know I consider myself part of the bacon family.
  17. I lean to JABO too. Christensen didn`t do much with blended colors, as I understood it, outside of their two-seamed crazy opaques. Swirls were more about very sharp separations (and flame-y ones, too!), I think. But I can always be wrong.
