  1. I`d say yes a nine, and probably MFC.
  2. I know - but Akro has them far less frequently, as if they were trying for their own "look." Almost rare on Akro.
  3. Is that very dark blue or black?
  4. I lean MFC. There are those nice nines, and that`s a lot of internal white for Akro . . .
  5. It looks very like mine. Mine`s blades may be a little straighter, but I think the variables are well within the same parameters, seeing how these were made. I also have a few blue and brown ones - Vacor seems to have gotten crazy with the colors on this variety.

    Time to Fight

    Somehow, it does.
  7. I have a couple of Vacor cats that have black, green, and white vanes - As far as I know, Vacor is the only one that used black vanes in the classic 3-vane pattern.

Congratulations, William. Fantastic that you will get to help people. And I couldn`t agree with you more about caregivers. I was my bedridden mother`s caregiver for 5 years while working full-time (museum) and teaching a class a week at night (university) and it very nearly did me in. And I was much younger then . . .

    No clue

    I`d say Vitro cat.
  10. Closer views of the seams will help us ID these =
  11. Never been much on carnelians for some reason (but love the stone itself) but I do love a nice brick!
  12. No, but I love to find debris in marbles - kind of gives them their own personalities. In green Vitro cats, the aventurine (if it`s there) is a very very fine sparkle (greenish or goldish) directly on the blades that`s not really noticeable until you hit it with a flashlight and turn the marble back and forth - then you might see what I call (in my head) glittery pixie dust!
  13. OK. I can give up the old German now. Thanks for removing a small nagging question for me!
  14. Can`t tell about that one. Fire was speaking about green Vitro cats. Check those out. If it`s there, it`s very fine . . . .
  15. Still looks like an old German banded transparent to me. The pontil is the rough area at top right, not the reflection on bottom left. Curious to see more of it.

    Akro Crow ?

The crows on the ebay ones aren`t as distinguishable as I`m used to seeing (except maybe one) but they are crows, the color is right. As opposed to the OP, which is much too orange. So I agree, weak cork. I heard they Crows were all dug, too.
  17. Akro cork on the last one. Akro had a number of blues -
  18. I just loved Art Jones - Once I helped him finish a Lucky Boy box and over the next year or so, not long before he died, he sent me some remarkable (and rare) Pelts, just because - and with provenance, since he knew i was and art historian. Extraordinary guy. Still miss him.
  19. I don`t know. Not very knowledgeable on Vacor. But the left row (the three-stripers on white) look like newer Imperials to me.
  20. Would it be one of the mysterious "Purple Fizzes" ?
