    Pelts

If it`s orange, it`s a Tiger. If it`s something in between, it`s a Wiger. Drenched in aventurine is always good!
  2. Very good point. I`ve never seen it mentioned anywhere if the Prima Agate or American Agate would fluoresce, though. Does anybody know? Has Hansel ever thrown UV on his boxes?
  3. They did. I have lots of them, bought mostly one by one, because some of the special runs had amazing marbles in them.

Me too! Check out the "corkscrew" closely. You`ll see the crazing of a typical glazed china. It`s ceramic, not glass, which throws it out of the transitionai group. Pretty conclusively.

Yep. I like the red one too - - -
  6. OMG - how he do that???? I`ll be hearing WMCA for hours . . . .

They could be US, but who? Akro didn`t do machine-made slags. They`re sure not Peltier. Only thing left is CAC, but they`re not typical for CAC either. I throw up my hands.
  8. Exactly what he said ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ up there.
  9. I sure did get it from Alan. Was out of my comfort zone, too, but sometimes you just have to have something. That day, this was that thing! Had to. Never been sorry - not a minute. Great that you remembered it!!
  10. You have a good one Steph! I`ve commented on 3 of these in another ID thread of yours - please see that one - The golden looks like a banded or onionskin lutz, real beaten up, but still a rare prize for any kid with one - would still sparkle like heck in the sun! The other = a coreless swirl or banded transparent. And as you thought, a blue glass Veiliglass wirepull. Nice unusual score!

Wow. These are tough. The first one, to me, does`nt have some of the main characteristics of a German that I look for. Here the seams meet exactly and on the Germans there is usually a noticeable gap. Plus there`s a lot more white (or color in the opaque) than the German Machine-mades usually have. And what`s that weird "tongue" in the upper right pic? More or less the same for the blue one. Plus side view is a little curvier. Last one looks like a painted china - - but not like one I`ve ever seen, and I collect them in a mild way. A corkscrew?? whaa?? Long story short, I have no secure way to call any of them. We both await other knowledge from someone else here. Maybe!
  12. 1. No idea 2. Akro Cork 3. Akro Cork - purple base, red cork = not common, but they`re not too hard to find.
  13. What I was wondering too. OR Champions ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  14. And is the black really black, or is it a transparent green? (That`s what it should be.)
  15. Just an opinion, but I don`t think it`s swirly enough for a MCS. I`d call it a MCR.

    French sparklers, yes. Good haul.

I separate the spiral (snake) more distinctly than that. The white (or, more usually, colored) snake is not very much inside the trans. glass. What shows as white on an Onyx (always white, never colored) is a wider cork that can nearly fill the marble - but it never completely does. If it did, it would be an Auger. Looked at from the pole, if the pole is open, it`s an Onyx. If it`s closed, it`s an Auger.
  18. I tend to treat 9s, backward 9s, and 6s as essentially the same thing - same movement, for slag purposes . . .

I don`t think Akro had names for any of its snakes - except maybe "spirals." I`ve seen them as Rootbeer too, but I don`t use it myself.

It`s a fairly hard-to-find snake. First, it`s a colored snake in colored transparent glass (most are in colorless as everybody knows). As far as I know (and I`ve been after them for years) there are three with yellow ribbons. The most usual is yellow in trans. yellow. The ones hardest to find are yellow in trans. amber and yellow in trans. purple, and they`re a little hard to distinguish from each other unless you have one of each in hand. Then it`s obvious.
