"Happy B-Day" Griff...

Give me a couple of days... Soon as I get my new lamps I will start adding photos... The "Tadpole" had nothing to do with the "Kingfisher's"... It was simply another marble I picked up... I purchased it as being an "Akro Tadpole"... Believe me, I am a real sap when it comes to Akro's... I had never heard of a "Tadpole" prior to that... Photo's to follow in a couple of days...

I started my marble collecting in 2005 and the "Kingfisher" was one of my first marbles... It was quite some time later I heard it referred to as a "Kro" or "Krow" or "Crow"... After this post was started, I do think "Kro" is probably the most correct spelling... I have 8 or 9 of those Mibs, only 2 with the long bill... The others do have a wisp of white with a black vein, but no bill...

I had no idea ebay was pulling all this schnit... There has to be something we can do... I haven't sold anything in the last 2 years... Probably purchased $10,000 or better in auctions... What can I do to help breaking down the empire??? I am truely at a loss here...

I would say all 3 colors are slightly translucent... The cantaloupe color being the base with a little white and even less black...

Hey Steve, What about a tadpole??? Do you know anything about those??? I recently picked up one of those, as an Akro Tadpole... Beauty of a marble, just don't know anything about it...

Thank-You for the input Steve... I have had my crows since at least 2005 and possibly earlier... I have possibly 6 or 8... Only 2 that are jewels... How sure are you that they didn't exist until 3 years ago... This is quite puzzeling to me...

Really amazes me you have never seen a crow/kingfisher... It is really one beauty of a marble... I would call it scarce to very rare finding one...

Can anyone tell me if the large marble on the right is an Akro??? If so then what might it be??? Only a couple hours left on auction... Thank-You for any help...

Akro Kingfisher/Crow is a beautiful marble... Cantaloupe color base with a black vein shaped as a bird with a bill on it... best I can do... I do have a few, and the photos are on disc's... Bob and Pat has one as an avatar...

Hi Gang, "Bob", can you direct me to a larger photo of your avatar??? Trying to help another person to identify a crow/kingfisher and need a good photo... Thank-You Buddy... I do have a couple of my own, but scared to use the new camera ... LOL

I'm sure I have some, just not sure which box... Then I'd have to use my new camera... Not today sweetie... Galen was a real help getting me set-up... Have to go up-stairs in the cold room to take photos... Looking at 8 to 12 inches snow tomorrow... Burrr!!!!

Hi Sue, give me a few days to get used to this thing... Then I will need your technical wisdom... Right now I'm trying to build up enough nerve to get started with it...

I can't even find the word Macro in the user manual, might it be called something else??? I have not fired the camera up yet, but the modes in the users manual don't mention Macro either...I do have and use a tripod...

To late today for any photos, I'm on my third Margarita and headed for another one or two before dinner... Gotta work tomorrow (my last day) so no photos till later in the week...

This camera uses only 2 AA size alkaline batteries or 2 Cannon AA-size NiMH (rechargeables) according to the manual, the NiMH have a longer life then the alkaline's do...

Got the camera late yesterday... I will do some reading now and try getting it set up...
