Those are some mighty fine lashes. I would say "lashes don't mean Akro" ... but with those seams, Akro is certainly a good possibility.

I thought hard about mentioning Vitro Whitie as a possibility, but I stared and stared at the glass and decided I was seeing Peltier base glass, so I decided I was dithering too much over other options.

Agree with Cat's Eyes. Agree with Asian. At least one most. That orange one at the bottom of the first picture could be an American marble, maybe from the Heaton company. Many are early-ish from Japan. Early-ish = 1950's to 1960's. As a general rule the single-color four-vane cat's eyes with the clearest base glass have the best chance of being 1950's. But I think of your turquoise ones as early-ish even though the bases are coming through as a little gray-tinted. Some of your three-color cat's eyes with six-vanes look like they might have a white "cross-through" pair of vanes. For example, the vane order being: blue, blue, white, yellow, yellow, white. Having a cross-through pair is desirable. Having a non-white cross-through is a little more desirable, but all are nice. As the base glass gets darker or greener tinted, the cat's eyes become less distinguishable by age or decade -- just "newer Asian".

I was getting a bit of a Vitro vibe at points ... but as Ric obvserved, I can't answer with the lighting. I'm used to ID-ing marbles in normal light. Backlit gives a wonderful but different feel, which doesn't provide the usual ID-ing cues to my brain.

The lavender strip I'm seeing could indicate the marble was made with Burmese glass cullet from the Fenton company. Jabo used that cullet.

It's called a Clearie. Sometimes with yellows or reds especially, you can see clues under UV light which might give you a guess whether it was made by Master or by one of the companies who made marbles with longer seams. But it's just a guess for fun. Clearies usually get grouped together and put into some jar for aesthetic enjoyment.

It's one I would have thought Alley on except for two reasons: (1) If Ric doesn't recognize it as Alley, then there's probably a reason for that. (2) The new haul of Heatons is coming up with marbles that I would have thought were Alley and this one looks like it could be in the ballpark of some of the Heatons which have surprised me so.

The last time I looked into the subject, the Champion factory was in the "no activity is reported at the time of this writing" phase. That was probably around 2010. Do we have updated information about them? Are they officially closed? Is there still a building at the site? Are there still marble machines at the site?

The MID-MO Marble Show was a great success for the 1st year. We had several turn out, some that couldn't due to illnesses and virus restrictions. Thank you everyone for coming who did and those who even commented on the post to keep other informed. I would like to see every show a success so I started a new website called marbleshows.com. This will be a site dedicated to listing shows that are upcoming as soon as they are planned. Feel free to check it out. I also will be adding links to Facebook groups, sellers websites, "TRUSTED" ebay sellers, and marble clubs. I hope it will be a good use of time and at least help people out with getting info on upcoming shows and possibly assist them in finding some new marbles.

Hiya. At first glance I was thinking glass which had been reworked over a torch. But maybe that was the "abalone" catching my eye. A lot of nice natural looking views on that. I'll guess Alley.

Sure has been awhile. I wondered if your young sportscaster had moved onto other projects. Production has gotten really slick. Nice job. As a collector, it was fun for me to see some older marbles qualified for the tourney. The very vintage Earth 2.0 will be a sentimental favorite for me but I was pleased to see who actually came out first.

Vacors have developed a strong following in the collector community. Not everyone's cup of tea but still many admirers.
