Hi. Welcome. You have a modern Marble King. Made around 2000 give or take a few years. -
Interesting subject. Thanks for sharing. I have enjoyed my own brief forays into paperweight history in search of marble insights.

Sweet cross-throughs. I can't remember who made 8-vane cat's eyes like that so I too want to hear the answer. I have a cat in my lap so I can't yet go look for my cat's eye book.

Friend made these clay marbles for me.

I think the green-looking ribbon comes from us seeing it through the transparent green base glass.

Not MCR. Not Muddy. The thing I wondered about was Tootsie Roll, but I doubt it's that either.

Sharp patch & ribbon pattern

Yes to pontils! (lol) Looks painted! It's a marble berry, Pollia condensata. Considered the shiniest living thing on earth. 30% as reflective as a mirror. Found in African forests. The shine is not from pigment but from reflective cell structure. Learned about it yesterday on a BBC radio show.

Sadly not me! You really are doing this marble thing right! Enjoy!

I agree with Japanese.

Probably Vacor Banana Swirl Oh, Art says Akro. I could see that too.

No, I don't have examples. That's what I'm saying. I don't know what the 1940's version looked like. Perhaps Elizabeth has them in her book, but I have misplaced my copy, so I cannot check.
-
I would put those in the 1960's. Would you agree?
-
Those do not look early to me. I'm talking about the ones from the 1940's.

I think Vacor on the last guy. I don't know what the earliest Vacor cats looked like. Have been curious.

It's a puzzle to try to navigate all the holes without marble (or ball bearing) falling in.

It looks quite bricky to me. I am not seeing the reflections I would hope for with mica. But at that size, how would brick get into it, right?

I have seen an 8 vane cat's eye sell for over $100. But that was an American-made one while I suspect that yours is Asian, which I doubt would be so valuable. However, the blue base glass is throwing me. I'm can't remember Asians with that base color. Maybe someone else will post and tell me "of course Asian".

Aw, what a wonderful picture.
