  1. Aw heck, I'm back to bumblebees. All bumblebees. 1000 of them.
  2. Coool. And no, I don't know. What do the cutlines look like? V-shaped? Short? Long?
  3. Oooh, do you prefer ammo which will fly further or hit harder?
  4. Something with the all wheel drive. Over $3000 if we get new parts. Still over $2000 if we get used. Ugh.

As to value, I'd think as a general rule knowing it's dug could lower monetary value. But I think the lines are probably blurred. If a marble is only known from the digs, and if not that many of them are known, then different rules would apply.

I don't know how to answer that. Probably a lot of dug ones you wouldn't be able to tell. But those colors are like a "spotted leopard" ... but without the spots. The spotted leopard is a fairly well known dug marble. http://marbleconnection.com/topic/9425-dug-leopard/ Here's an earlier dug marble example Lizzy posted with somewhat similar coloring, which was ID-ed as a spotted leopard.
  7. Congratulations to 2018 National Marbles Champions Joshua Johnston and Madison Johnson. Wildwood Hosts 95th Annual National Marbles Tournament

Could be Akro with those colors. You might have gotten hold of some dug marbles.
  9. Very important step accomplished -- I found my stash of marbles that I'm willing to send down a marble run. That can be difficult for a marble collector to do -- send little glass orbs into a situation where they're going to get knocked into each other. But I've found my marble run marbles.
  10. I don't know ... I'll put this in the main chat area to let more people see the question.
  11. Aw, we need more people to play so I don't look silly for making this into its own thread.
  12. How about some classic Sunburts?
  13. This one made me think of you, Hoody: It was prompted by the news of the upcoming christening of Prince Louis of England. "Louis" has a silent 'e'. Lou-ee. But since "Louis" ends in 's', we don't put a new 's' after the apostrophe. So now we have "Prince Louis' christening" and how to do we pronounce it? The 's' before the apostrophe is still silent, but now we pronounce a nonexistent 's' after the apostrophe.
  14. Just for fun, here's a picture of the marbles I'm taking (actually these are owned by Doug Mitchell, grandson of the company's founder)
  15. Well, there's a Budweiser Jabo. As to actual alcohol ... the only one I know is Mexican ... Tequila Canicas ... so it doesn't qualify.

The colors are right for Akro. That's my vote.
  17. My first thought was Marble King -- with a lot of bumblebees. But then I got practical. I'd have to go for the California Onyx Company ... because stone would last longer. This is a fun question. As much as I like having my random conversation thread bumped, this deserves its own thread. I know someone who can make that happen.
  18. Those are some Vitro historical pictures I had never seen before. Yesterday I got some Akro historical pictures in the mail.
