Here's the pontil of a lightning bolt. It looks rough. I don't know the terminology for pontils. Is this "ground"? I don't know. I really need to learn that.
I think that's a Morphy auction photo. I found it listed here: http://www.icollector.com/Red-Green-Lightning-Bolt-Marble_i8466237 (You can see more views at that link.)
I guess I'm still dancing.
Sunshine on my last dances makes me happy ...
Sunshine on my last dances can make me cry ...
Sunshine on my last dances looks so lovely .....
If I had a last dance that I could give to you .... ♫
Maybe it's completely for real in that area -- at least if you have your settings right on your camera to capture the colors.
My brother and his family were in Ireland and talking about how exceptionally green it was ... like shades of green seen nowhere else in the world -- ultra green. But the photos they were showing were kinda normal ... even on the dull side. Then finally my brother posted one which was ultra green. I like to think the colors are real but maybe you gotta trick your camera into showing them.
But the real reason I started this thread is Joe!
I opened the "new" light tent and my very well-behaved boy who doesn't do much box-seeking anymore (which is a little sad) decided it was for him. I didn't get a picture of that. BUT ... I did remember this old light tent which I totally hated because it was white everywhere ... and voila!
Finally have a use for it!
Hoping to be able to reliably take good photos indoors, after many years I got out the light tent which someone on the forums suggested.
This one, which came with tri-pod lamps:
First step ... find all the Vacors. I reached for this box and it's not as full as I thought. Now I have to remember my other Vacor hiding spaces. (That comment made me think about a hole-in-the-wall Mexican cantina. )
