    Pelt Patches

I thought I had a Realers thread. I KNOW I had a thread where we talked about Realers ... with inventory and/or price lists ... but I can't find it. So I'll put these here:
  2. Oh no ... two of the pictures aren't showing up for me. But the third is delicious. [edit: I see them now! Luscious]
  3. ooooeeee .... that's an old one, isn't it
  4. Why do I love those so? I didn't even play with cars when I was little that I can remember. Not much.
  5. Welcome freedog. Nice thought! I think I agree ... put a colorful marble up next to a diamond and it's not a guarantee what the non-conditioned person might prefer.
  6. More Marble Kings: The row of three in the middle are Copperheads, same name as one of the nicer Pelts, but different look. Heh ... been looking for an excuse to bump this thread.
  7. Marble Kings: On the left column -- Blue Boys and a Robin. On the right, Black Widows.
  8. Vitro on yours, Shell. Richard, did you see that that's a link to a Tri-Color thread at the end of my post? It doesn't always look like a link to me, the way the board gives a preview and doesn't just underline the link. So how you said "dig around" made it sound like you didn't realize it was a link either. Sorry if I'm being silly.
  9. Are we seeing a white base with tiny bubbles? If so, then I'm with you on Peltier Rainbo. It's not the most typical ribbon pattern, but it's in the range that I think you could have found in a Bloodies box. So
  10. Still May .... Berretti ceramics http://www.landofmarbles.com/laura-berretti.html
  11. From that view, I don't see a vintage Marble King Rainbow, or a modern one. The vintage Marble King Rainbow looks like so -- it's called a Patch & Ribbon pattern. Ignore the first marble here for a moment. It's a Tri-Color Rainbow. The typical P&R pattern is Patch on top in Color 1. Ribbon of Color 2. Ribbon of Color 1. Patch on bottom of Color 2. Modern Rainbows do have two patches, one on either end. Usually but not always the same color. So ... back to your marble. It could possibly still be Marble King with that combo. Or it could be Vitro. OR, and this is how I'm leaning at the moment, it could be an Akro Tri-Color Agate.
  12. Wonder if it could be one of the more obscure West Virginia marble companies, but those would be from the 1940's and I think your collection was mostly complete before then, if I recall correctly. Well, I still don't know. But maybe Paul or Ric or Sclsu or one of the other folks will have a feel for it. I'll step back now.
  13. Hmmmm .... yes, another puzzler! Opalescent, huh? Hmmmm .... Vitro oddball? Not-so-swirly Champion? Hmmmmm
  14. Here's a pic from Land of Marbles showing Laura Berretti's painted ceramics. Yours isn't looking identical to these but I'm still getting more of a "paint" sense than a "glass flow" sense from your colors. Again, I leave open the possibility that I'm wrong but that's my explanation for why I think that yours is Christensen-esque but not Christensen. http://www.landofmarbles.com/laura-berretti.html http://www.marbledarts.com/
  15. That's what we've been saying. It has a certain Christensen-esque look to it. The Christensen in question: There is some waviness in some of the color streams on the Christensen. But not sure I've ever seen them with the degree of waviness on the edges which we're seeing on yours: Your wavy edges make me think of these Italian Ceramic marbles: Oooops ... my computer is loading slowly ... I'm going to hit submit and then I'll be back with the Italian example. (Of course it might turn out that someone like Galen will happen by and decide that the issue is just the camera or lighting and still see Christensen possibilities.) BRB ... if my computer keeps working.
  16. Long time since I thought of this one ...
  17. Way cool. I've seen packaging from France (labelled in French), but I can't remember if I've seen packaging which said the marbles were made in France.
