  1. That appears to be bubbles inside, not mica. I really think this could be a Master Cloudy. If that's so, then it's a relatively uncommon. Well, I don't know how common it is, but probably most people who have them don't know what they have. I had some when I first started collecting and didn't know what I had and sold them cheaply. I don't know what value they should have, but it should be quite a bit more than an ordinary solid-colored marble. If it is indeed a Master Cloudy, I'd call it a keeper.
  2. Yup. The bottom group have fractures. But that's what I expect in a Copperhead. I just wanted to have one, any one, and there were three (along with all the rest). It was an offer I could not refuse.
  3. That's really bright green ... maybe too bright for what I have in mind but I'll put this out there anyway. I'm wondering if it belongs with the marbles on the left side of this box.
  4. Oooh oooh oooh! Could it be a Master Cloudy? What shades did they come in?
  5. I should have admired the chalky out loud. I have some chalkies but nowhere near that thick. Very artistic how it is outlined by the color.

    Akro Ades

Don posted some Tomatoes for me. Tomato Ace Cork Shooters Ace Cork Shooters So, not Ades. But same family. Akro name: Moss Agates. Collectors' name: Ace (and Tomato Ace ) Thanks, Don. I really want to finally learn and finally remember the names for the red varieties.
  7. Vote: gorgeous Alley flame on the top one. On the bottom ... the colors make me think of an Akro corkscrew. But I'm not seeing a corkscrew in the pattern. I'll wait for someone else to say.
  8. It has been noted that the black bananas seem to be a little fuzzy, in a way which sets them apart from typical Peltier bananas. To me that -- and the bag evidence -- are what put the black bananas in the Master's camp. I think Master made the marbles in their cat eye bags.
  9. I agree with Akro on the left. On the right, the yellow and green part don't look Master to me. The red could be. I think Akro made the first 59% of it and then sent it over to Master to add the other 41%.
  10. It took me so long to come to terms with that type being Akro. But I finally accepted it.

    Pelt Or Mk?

    What he said. Deep blue?
  12. Does the red and yellowish (and white) one in the first picture (second row from the top, near the black widows) have a name?
  13. My Marble King collection just got way more exotic. There might be some names I'm missing, but this will make my first Robin's Egg, pretty sure my first Blue Boys, my first Copperheads, and my second through fifth Black Widow. And some peewees I don't have examples of already.

"Tomato swirl" Learned that name today for the red Moss Agate cork/swirls which don't fluoresce.
  15. Peltiers. Probably have names. I don't know the names offhand.
  16. Could we have one view with more magnification?
  17. Coolness. Do you know what kind? What flavor of black is it? Black black? Purple black? Brown black?
  18. Do modern Champs get grandfathered in? Or do Champs have a dividing line based on age?
  19. I knew that wasn't all. Found four more boxes so far today. I love the collector's cases -- and the marbles of course. . Being able to see inside is great for me.
