  1. Whoa Gary, I musta missed the news on surgery... Glad to hear all went well... Let's build up another blast of that Marble Karma for the test results!!!!
  2. Yeah Bo!! That looks like the guy!!! LOL
  3. All 3 were damaged marbles with a good side.
  4. Bo, when I responded to Steve, I hadn't seen the "Art Fart Thread" (LOL) And wondered what the heck you were talking about!!! I'm glad you DID post it!!! Between that and Gary's board post and.... maybe.... Bob's "found design" thread, we're taking a nice turn of attention... Thank you!!!! Bob's tried to explain the design thing. And, I'm still working on figuring it out.... It could just be that either I need to drink more of what's in that glass, or he needs to drink less..... I'm going to experiment, later and we'll see how that turns out!!! ROFL :Happy_143:
  5. The white based Lutz onion is just a ruler line over 2" I love that corner display case... Very cool!!! And, in the group shot, all are beautiful.... But, the pink opague!!! Super!!! :Emoticon-jawdrop:
  6. Wow, lots was added while I was typing!!! Yeah Bo, I never had much luck with 2 demensional work either... In school, I was able to find some abstract stuff that was fun... I do have a "style" of drawing that's kinda cool... But, it's not what I'd LIKE to be able to do. I'd LIKE to be able to do what Mary does!!! But, I guess I just have to accept what I can do and appreciate it for what it is.... LOL The birds are AWESOME!!!! Hey.... Someone mentioned Gary's marble board in the other thread... Yes!! Check it out!! It's cool!!
  7. That's really cool, Bo!!! At first, I thought it was just an abstract pile of wire... Then, I saw what you saw... The guy, leaned over, hugging his knees... I agree with Steve... The "hair" does give it a Native American feel... Mary... Damn!! That's great!!! :Happy_143: While in high school, I took a "General Metals" class... The instructor had been the usual "shop" teacher and I was the first girl to take the course... To my GREAT luck, the teacher went on sabbatical that year and was replaced by a retired welder, who took the class away from making tin cookie sheets and perforated tin lanterns, into a very good understanding of gas and electric welding. He loved that I was using his instruction for art and we became very good friends... I started out college as a metal arts major... At the time, the "Hippy Silver Jewelry" faze was happening and I was into welding, brazing and making bigger copper & brass type stuff.... So, I never really "fit in" to what was going on... (I had to teach the teachers how to use the oxy-acetylene rig they had stashed behind the door....) After that, I had no place to keep such things... When I got married, my husband had a rig... But, with kids and all... I never had much chance to get back into it.... Now that my kids are older, I can really feel myself sliding back towards working with metal and clay (my second... if not first love) I've had a potters wheel for about 35 years and haven't used it for the last 30.... But, I KNOW I will.... I want to set it up under an awning on the deck during the summer.... This year, we got the awning up, but ended up using it for working on the house... Maybe next year?? I'd like to try building a kiln... This stuff is all from high school... ½" steel stock, cut with a cutting torch... The first time I set the cuffs of my pants on fire, I freaked.... By the tenth or twelft time, I just finished what I was doing and stamped it out again.... Back in the day when big brass belt buckles were cool (1971-72?) I made this for my best friend.. We've just re-connected after 28 years!!! It was cool to see it again!!! (Yeah, we're both Libras!!) Copper wire, laid on copper sheet, then covered with a layer of brazed brass rod... Just for fun................
  8. Geeeez, if I had great luck like that, I hope I'd be smart enough to keep my mouth shut, no?? LOL
  9. Hi Steve... I know what you mean about Larry going too quickly.... We'd only met a few times in person... We had a sporatic communication here and there... But, I always felt a bond to him... Whenever I think of him, James Taylor's refrain, "But, I always thought I'd see you one more time again" goes through my mind... I'm really sorry, but all three of these have a personal connection to someone. I was actually hoping to maybe find some others available... If I do, I'll let you know.
  10. Larry was an amazing talent... Whether it was working with his hands, his pen, or his voice!! Here's some sterling jewelry he made... Has anyone got any other pieces??? Sulphide Horse pendant, made for Bev Brule.... Akro Agate Life saver pendant.... John Dustin's blue Lutz ring... Larry's silver signature...
  11. Thanks Andrea!! And, thanks to all who have posted!!! It's so good to see this stuff out in the light again!! C'mon, Andrea.... We know you've got 'em!!!! LOL
  12. ROFL.... Yeah, that looks like it oughta do it!!! Here goes.... Some sparkle... Some Lobes (underwater) Lottsa layers A little gold... Real Big.. Real small... And lotsa Big Balls!!!!
  13. Cool Beans, Craig!!! We need a little refreshing new topics and this is a cool one!!! Yeah, having the advertisement is REALLY cool!!!!
  14. Marble prayers and karma have proven to be powerful forces, Carl!!! You've got all I can send!!! Hang in, Man....
  15. Uh Oh.... I'm not gettin' pics, Bo.... Did you run outta space, too?? Hey Lou, is the a way each of us can edit the space we've used?? Some of the photos should be left in, if they've gone to a reference thread.... But, there's probably a lot that can be dumped... edit: OK, I got Bo's (nice!!)... But the question stands....
  16. That's wonderful, Gary!!! Unless you had mentioned the holes, it would have taken me a long while (if ever) to notice!! I'd call it a nice way to show that it's not done by a machine!! Carl's got a good point......
  17. I seem to be the only one responding here, Gary... An, I'm afraid I have no idea on that one....
  18. And, a link to those would be.... Onlinetexas
  19. It's great to know there's others who do collect all three!!! I don't really understand why we seem to be a minority..... But, it seems to work that way.
  20. Uh Oh... I'm outta space again............
  21. Thanks Terry!!! How sweet!!! I had one of those baby sulphides... But, I decided, one day (back in the 80's) I didn't like sulphides... So, I sold it along with the little girl in the up-side-down chair and a blue figure #2... All 3 are in the Kansas City Toy museum, from Larry Svacina's collection.... We visited a few years ago... It was GREAT to see them again!!! (Along with a bunch of other stuff I'd sold to either Larry, or his Mom, that I'd forgotten about...) Thanks so much to Larry and Kathy for creating such a wonderful place to see their collection... Anyone who can, should DEFINITELY check it out!!! Here's some of the stuff I've kept....
  22. Or, if it's big enough, in a rounding machine... I've got a few hunks of cullet that i want to send to buddy and see what comes outta the machine when they're round.... (But, he's so damned BUSY!!!)
  23. Kevin, it sure looked as if you were insinuating that I may not REALLY know what a Furnace mib looks like... They are one of my favorite machine made types and I do have a few... Where would you get that idea?? If I only collected handmades, do you really think I'd bother hangin' around here?? LOL (Sometimes, I wonder about that anyway.............)
  24. :rol: Mannnnn, I was so worried we were headed for a long debate on what was, or wasn't a Popeye!!! Too funny!!!
  25. Kevin...... You do know how long I've been collecting marbles, right??
