  1. Thanks for stepping up Dave. Congrats!!
  2. You're exactly right. Doesn't matter what you call it, but in this case it won't hurt to start at the top. It will still sell based on eye appeal. I usually deal with these in person and at the shows and the buyers will tell me if they disagree on the ID. But yes Sue, I do understand you much better thank you.
  3. I don't do Jabo as a rule but after seeing those beauties I may change my mind. "What's in a name? That which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet."
  4. The not you thingy is normal for everyone. It used to confuse me a little before my third cup o' joe. Ebay is keeping better records of some of these crooks. Finally! Such as wanting to know who you are and why you are contacting the seller and so forth before they give you the contact seller page. When they see a lot of people wanting to contact certain sellers on their watch list more red flags go up in their files. I've even seen sellers BEGGING you not to leave neg feedback..."cause if I get one more negative I'll get booted off ebay"...type of language. If everyone would not be afraid to slam them a negative if they deserve it, they would be kicked off. But it is the newbie's who don't know any better and don't want to look like they made a mistake by leaving anything but good feedback. Most of us know to stay away from this type seller but maybe we should all pitch in (gang up) and buy a few of these so we can set them straight.
  5. You read my mind David! Creepy and yet beautiful.
  6. That should go on a calendar! Very cool!!
  7. Step right up folks, everyone's a winnah! It doesn't fool me one bit but I really feel sorry for the newbie who might mistake it for a rare mib.
  8. Thank you Sami. You explained it better than anyone. It amazes me just how it might not be so cut and dry in some venues. Good to hear from you and it is always a pleasure.
  9. I love the way you think m!b$. It seems so cut and dry that way. I'll try to put it another way. Imagine all the blended ribbons gone. What's left? A big fat Superman. lol One more thing. I wanted to admit that I personally agree that the one side of this mib is pretty weak in the action dept. Especially compared to the other half of the mib. So maybe there is something to the Hybrid Superboy theory, and how someone might think that way. I'm gonna fall off this fence. lol
  10. Yep! And it might be as easy as whether or not you are the buyer or the seller! lol In the mean time here are some better pics. I got the point and blur to behave a little.
  11. Just when they win me over to the other side...lol That was part of my arguement way back then. I have now come to realize just how strict the order is in these high end pelts. The one funny answer I seem to remember was that if it is your marble you can call it whatever you wish. That didn't wash with me then, and still doesn't. I really hate for this to get started again since we are This mib is different than the one before which was a blue base with yellow and red yel orange blend for the red ribbons. in other words there were no pure red ribbons. Not one. Well this one has only one but it does have one. Maybe this could be presented in a different fashion. What is the lowest common denominator for a Superboy? Is it not simply a baby blue base with ribbons of blended red and yellow? So now add pure yellow and pure red. And the result? Still a Superboy! Or rather a hybrid Superboy. Maybe I am still on the fence a little. But that is only because I am pretty new to this hobby as in less than ten years, and I'm still trying to listen to the pro's.
  12. I'm still looking for a better camera, sorry. They should have called my camera a point and blur. And yes, aside from a couple tiny hits and a few fleabites it is pretty super.
  13. Thanks! Sounds perfect. Now if the red ribbons outnumber the orange ribbons instead of the other way around then it is called a Hybrid Superman? I think I am finally seeing what some were trying to say in a thread last year. I for one really like the combo of all the blends much more than the three bold Superman colors all on their own. I'm just gonna call 'em by their correct names from now on and extend my apologies to the hard-core purists from last year's thread.
  14. I know this topic has created some heated debates in the past but I am gonna cautiously bring it up here again, if I may. I have a 27/32 Pelt Superman/Superboy depending on which side you are viewing. It is the normal baby blue base with the bright yellow, red, and orange. So here's my question: Is it a Superman as long as there is one true pure red ribbon with the rest of the red ribbons being the orange blend? Or does the presence of any blending of the red ribbons whatsoever knock it back to a Superboy? Thanks!
  15. I don't want to complain or anything, but I was a real good boy last year and I didn't get any marbles in my stocking. lol Very efficient looking set-up Rich. Keep 'em coming!!
  16. What a beautiful gift of marbles. I'm sure Weldon would have just loved these. Thank you for sharing these with us Edna. I knew Weldon very little, but I miss him a whole lot. Take care. Roger
  17. Just can't shake the nightmare of Santa, on fire, and running thru the snow trying to put himself out! lol Amazing work, amazing hobby. I'm so tempted to try to find the beginner's mind on this one and totally amaze myself with the possibilities, but I'd probably end up burning the house down! lol The marble is everything I thought it might be, and the controlled bubbles give it that special magic. Torch Head and others should have no problem if they follow everything you said to the letter. So much detail as far as the order of things, so I would think a lot of practice and patience is in order for the newbie. Thank you Rich!!
  18. Dang Rich, I was glued from beginning to end! What a great production, bravo to you and your film crew. You made it look easy. Have you posted that marble anywhere? I wanna see it out of the kiln. PS Oh, and with Christmas getting closer, watch out for your lovely beard Santa! lol
  19. One final question: Would the bag shown actually hold all the marbles that came in the box? Also please note the way they say 'a variation of sizes' when they are only talking about two sizes in that box.
  20. The chinese checkers would have been 60 count so there would have been an overflow. Did you notice that the article states "...that any boy would treasure,..." So how come girls got to play? lol Or better yet, when were girls added to the list in the advertising?
  21. Thanks Steph! So I'm looking for a two toned genuine buckskin bag huh? FWIW the additional 48 mibs would all have to be around 9/16ths to fit exactly into that grid outline. Which means that somebody kept a bunch of 9/16ths mibs in there for some time to create that grid. That would make a total of 100 marbles exactly in the box. 12 @ 7/8 + 40 @ 5/8 + 48 @ 9/16ths. Thanks again to everyone!
