  1. Here it is at 5/8 and sporting a few blowouts common in pelts. You can see the pure blue almost water-like transparency.
  2. m!b$, that is not a sub in your pics. I'm seeing NLR Superboys. The blue is very translucent to transparent in a real sub. The blue one in post #7 does look like a real sub, but it is hard to see just how simi-transparent it is in the pic. I think I might have a better pic, let me look.
  3. A Sailor's Christmas Twas the night before Christmas, the ship was out steaming, Sailors stood watch while others were dreaming. They lived in a crowd with racks tight and small, In a 80-man berthing, cramped one and all. I had come down the stack with presents to give, And to see inside just who might perhaps live. I looked all about, a strange sight did I see, No tinsel, no presents, not even a tree. No stockings were hung, shined boots close at hand, On the bulkhead hung pictures of a far distant land. They had medals and badges and awards of all kind, And a sober thought came into my mind. For this place was different, so dark and so dreary, I had found the house of a Sailor, once I saw clearly. A Sailor lay sleeping, silent and alone, Curled up in a rack and dreaming of home. The face was so gentle, the room squared away, This was the United States Sailor today. This was the hero I saw on TV, Defending our country so we could be free. I realized the families that I would visit this night, Owed their lives to these Sailors lay willing to fight. Soon round the world, the children would play, And grownups would celebrate on Christmas Day. They all enjoyed freedom each day of the year, Because of the Sailor, like the one lying here. I couldn't help wonder how many lay alone, On a cold Christmas Eve on a sea, far from home. The very thought brought a tear to my eye, I dropped to my knees and started to cry. The Sailor awakened and I heard a calm voice, "Santa, don't cry, this life is my choice." "Defending the seas all days of the year, So others may live and be free with no fear." I thought for a moment, what a difficult road, To live a life guided by honor and code. After all it's Christmas Eve and the ship's underway! But freedom isn't free and it's sailors who pay. The Sailor say's to our country "be free and sleep tight, No harm will come, not on my watch and not on this night. The Sailor rolled over and drifted to sleep, I couldn't control it I continued to weep. I kept watch for hours, so silent, so still, I watched as the Sailor shivered from the night's cold chill. I didn't want to leave on that cold dark night, This guardian of honor so willing to fight. The Sailor rolled over and with a voice strong and sure, Commanded, "Carry on Santa, It's Christmas, and All is Secure!" HONOR, COURAGE AND COMMITMENT -anonymous
  4. I want them all! WOW!! The guineas speckled looking one's are so extra nice! And the Lutz!! Way to go Dave, they are getting better and better year after year.
  5. An early Christmas present. It is a brass owl with big ol' Vitro's for eyes. Nice colors too!! The 7/8" mibs look like same-run twins. Merry Christmas!!
  6. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Speed Racer.
  7. Happy Birthday to a very fishy mibber! Hope it is fun-filled!!
  8. It's a devilish little creation. Glad to see you are expanding your horizons. What will you think of next? Love it!!!
  9. Very nice work with the boro, and so unusual that I hope I can grab a few before they disappear.
  10. It's very clever Rich. The background is charming and seems to blend in very well. Is that 'taw' one of your creations?
  11. Both look the same. Some folks need the base to glow in a Carnelian, others still call them Carnelian glowing base or not. I say both are Carnelian. IMO
  12. Here is a recent find. A foreign whopper at 1.75 inches. The base looks bifurcated with blue on one side and clear on the other. And the bubbles! OMG...there's a million of them.
  13. Thanks, it is extra nice in hand. I zoomed it for a little better look.
  14. I think this is a vintage Czech necklace. Pics taken in natural daylight. Necklace is more red-violet indoors. Largest bead is 5/8 smallest is 3/16. Enjoy.
  15. Beautiful swirls. The lutz is great too. Wish I had some of those.
  16. I thought Muddies had a translucent opalescent base. This base is totally opaque and much more dijon mustard yellow or maybe a cream corn color not captured in the pic. I'll see if I can take a better shot of it soon. Thanks Steph.
  17. Most colorful handmades.
  18. Rich, it was so nice to meet you in person and to see all of your very colorful creations at this show. Santa turned out to be a sweet and loveable man who really makes toys! Thank you for making the trip over to Texas.
  19. Great looking Pelts so far. Here's another interesting Rainbo, same size as my first one. It also has an unusual color combo. My first Pelt might be called a Blue Deere (but no aventurine, dang it) and this one is close to a Catsup and Mustard.
  20. Hey everybody, show us your biggest Rainbos. Just picked up this 15/16 monster at the Fort Worth show that ended yesterday. Color combo is unlike any I have ever seen before on a Rainbo.
  21. Short but so sweet! Thanks Steph. The old man was a shark! lol
