I have melted bottles in campfires many times. It takes several hours, but I am talking about relatively small campfires burning for probably less than 12 hours. Just saying. I can’t explain the chemistry, but have seen it happen repeatedly. Very deformed bottles from campfire heat alone.

There are still a variety of cateye makers in foreign countries both past and present that we have zero info about. There are several that we have a glimpse into what they made too. Some we know a fair amount about. Just sharing that general info. A ton of international research still needs to take place all over the globe.

I have bought all 3 colors of that box with Ravenswoods in them. Just sharing that info.

Practically all the companies made amber transparent swirls. Telling them apart is extremely difficult unless they have telltale patterns or additional colors which they typically don’t.

Does anybody reading this have a decent sized group of 5:8” sunflowers to share a pic of. Not sure if multiple runs of the 5/8” were made, but somebody must have a couple hundred to share a pic of. That would be helpful in ruling them out. -
All 3 from 2003 I believe

Even the brown/purple with orange are harder to find than the blue with orange. The green and orange is harder to find by far. The 3 colored ones on white are also harder to find. Pic for reference. I do love the Winnie color combo like the original pic in this thread with blue and yellow on white.

Maybe I misunderstood what you meant Jeff. Were you saying that blue and orange on white was the hardest to find white base of all Veiligglas made? There are several much harder to find color combos. Here are some of my blue and orange as reference.
