  1. jerk (jurk) v. 5. Slang. A dull, stupid, or fatuous person.
  2. Do you have any Vacor Catseyes, like this one (I'm assuming that's what this is.) Catseye
  3. Luv that red flame Here's my Alleys.
  4. I noticed that Phil McGlothlin doesn't appear to be on the list. I believe he may be deceased (does the list only include living artists?) That signature definitely looks like "Jr" to me, not "JC".
  5. It was heart disease, not trauma from a head injury.
  6. I thought the orange and the blue looked Vacorish, together with the large size, 29/32".
  7. I can remember a few years ago, when Galen had a reputation for being tactful and a peacemaker in any situation. Then all that changed. Seems to have coincided with his appointment as moderator at LOM.
  8. There are some nice-looking Ultras too, tho I haven't been motivated enough to bid on one yet.
  9. Now what do you suppose this one is? skorokid strongly suggests that it's vintage, even though he says he doesn't know if it's old or new. Another pricey marble
  10. Ok, so moonstone isn't the same thing as opalescent. I'm glad, or I'd be thoroughly confused again.
  11. And that's another thing...moonstone, by which they mean opalescent, I suppose. But that's not the definition of opalescence that I'm familiar with, which is an ambient, soft, yellowish-orange soap bubble glow all over inside the base glass. To me, opalescent is what Realers are.
  12. Don't mean to bust anyone's bubble, but I don't like any of the new-run marbles, with the exception of a very few error Foxfires that I've seen on eBay, one of which, I recently bought, and it's killer (even with the orange), better than these photos! My Foxfire
  13. I had just recently decided that there is no such thing as a Ringer, and now you do THIS to me??? Nevertheless, I still don't believe there are any Ringers. That one just happens to fit the definition more closely than most others...still, it's probably just a variation on a Moss Agate Corkscrew, which, until recently, I had believed were Aces.
  14. Ask him what? Even a novice can see that the marble he just sold is very much like the other two that I already told him were cullet marbles.
  15. Another cullet marble, from skorokid. I emailed him after he raked in close to $400 on the last two that he sold. He thanked me for the info, and said that he would ask the person who he buys from, to let him know when there are any of those in the ones that he buys. Either his dealer isn't being upfront, or... Akro Cullet marble
  16. I can't understand why anyone would deliberately want to destroy their own reputation for no apparent reason. Knock it off, already, Scott. You're also destroying the value of my SP collection. (And I don't read it.)
  17. If you're interested in selling those Popeyes, I'm interested in buying them! PM me.
  18. The only marble book I have is Grist's Big Book of Marbles, 3rd edition, which was an unexpected Christmas present. I'm still only on page 63. I've never read any other marble books since I've been collecting.
  19. Well, I just emailed the seller and let him know that the marble he sold for over $200, is probably ground from cullet. Here is another one that looks like it may also be cullet, sold to the same buyer, who, by the way, left very positive feedback for both marbles. Another unusual, pricey Akro
  20. Oxbloods, catseyes, flames 'n' swirls, Who says marbles ain't for girls!
  21. I used to buy alot from this seller. He told me that he recently had cataract surgery, and could barely see before that. His pictures are better than they used to be, but it's always a gamble on the condition of his marbles.
  22. I wondered about polished, but didn't think of cullet.
  23. I've never seen another one like it. Does anyone know anything about these? Akro
