  1. Yes, on all counts as far as I can tell anyway. The bottom row one is iffy though, could be pennsboro.
  2. To me, alleys have traits that tend to go with the factory they came from. There are ones in grey areas, but in general if you put 1000 sistersville alleys in a pile, 1000 pennsboros in a pile, and 1000 St. Marys in a pile, it would be very easy to identify which pile came from where, although not every single marble will be easy to tell by itself. Some of them are though. Like the Alley random group Winnie posted... the majority of those are Pennsboros, a few Sistersvilles, and one St. Marys. I might be stepping out on a limb but if you never step out on a limb, you never make it to the next tree!
  3. Looks nicer than any ox/green alley I have! Nice one!
  4. Good point, I had considered Cairo too on that one but the colorless clear part going down into the base and the transparent green wide area said Heaton to me. I did get a second opinion before posting but nothing is always 100% and these have no provenance, so...
  5. Couple more, nothing fancy.
  6. Recently picked up this tightline with aventurine and 2-color snake:
  7. Nice one, I know what you mean about Akro orange. Is that a light blue streak in the black?
  8. I wondered if it was the Boy's name who owned them or if it was related to Montgomery Wards. I never looked at the back until now and I see a Montgomery Wards price sticker on it! Cool! That explains the name on the front.
  9. I finally got another box to post. Just got this one. It had 3 vitros in it I assume to replace some that got lost. I found out which color combos were missing and replaced them with mint examples from my collection but marked them with a dot. Some of the corners have tape but the price was good and it makes my 3rd Akro 100 count box! The paper on the side with text on it was in the box and I just left it. It is a 1941 title application for the state of Illinois. Someone wrote "100 marbles" on the top left corner and "Wards 1946 Xmas" in the other top corner. I'm pleased with it and thought I'd share.
  10. Thank you. It just occurred to me that this might be considered to be a blue raven? It does have a light coffee colored base. Probably not, just a passing thought.
  11. I think the darker green one is an Akro.
  12. That's a real beauty Paul! Here is the one I was talking about on facebook with the brown tracing the ribbon in the green. This one is a shooter and not near as pretty but still nice. The photos aren't very good, I think I took these under halogen lights with my cellphone and it muted the colors a bit.
  13. deleted bad photobucket links
  14. Looks an awful lot like a vitro but it's an akro out of the pictured box set.
  15. I have one of those too. I suspect it came from Santa (Rich)? Made from Akro cullet I assume?
  16. That's a nice one! Here's a tight akro.
  17. That's pretty close, thanks. I just download them to photobucket. I agree, this took an unintended tangent (my fault). I'll give it a chance for Ric to look at and if no more discussion I'll delete.
