    Guinea?

I think someone was trying to make a marble that looks like one.

    Today's Find

That answers the question in my mind: "where the heck do you find a big enough piece of bone or ivory to make this?"

    Today's Find

Wow, I've never seen one made of bone or ivory! My uncle used to do scrimshaw when he was alive up in Massachusetts.

    New?

That's the type of vacor that some ebayers would love to try to pass as a pelt. Definitely a vacor though. Serpent.
  5. Okay, now I'm thinking Cairo, CAC, and CAC.
  6. I'm thinkin' no, no, and maybe. More views might change my mind.

    Cac?

    Something newer?
  8. Weird... on the "V" shaped shear mark i tlooks like the glass was too cold when it got cut, but there is no similar mark on the other pole. The ox looks like akro and the pattern on the one on the left looks akro, so dug akro would be my guess, but I don't know.
  9. Cool brick! I still haven't acquired one. I can see what Ann says about bricks being a type that could easily turn into a separate collection of it's own.
  10. It's a nice marble with pontils that were done by someone who cared about their work and didn't make a sloppy cut of it. The bands on these are almost never 100% symmetrical, and they don't really reflect on the workmanshop of the marble maker. The bands are already in the rod of glass when the marble maker gets it, so it is what it is. It was handmade 100 years ago... it's amazing that it's as nice as it is!
  11. Also look at the silver paper with blue print. This is something Akro used often enough. My two boxes of prize names have labels onthe same paper with the same blue print.
  12. Woah... I think that's a super-superman.

    Bike Day

Nice! I need to get out and get some wind in my face soon!
  14. Those fake fireworks have the same treatment applied to them as the fake marble boxes. He says they are indistinguishable from originals, but he is wrong. This guy is a shameful con and he was embarassed by getting caught so he went overboard trying to deny his forging actions in true "caught-liar" fashion. I don't disdain someone who makes a good reproduction, but the instant they try to pass of one single item as original, they are on my s list.
  15. Sounds mighty defensive and since some of his reply is untruthful, it gives doubt to the entirety. I'd bet good money it's fake.
  16. Funny how the lower right corner of the boy scout box is worn through to the cardboard underneath, but it has a shine over the wear like decoupage or some kind of sealer was applied over it after the wear.
  17. Thanks! Those have brownish hues, some black, and some purple here and there. They are cool. Notice the boxes say "prize names" but some are just one color corks? That makes me wonder about the company use of the name. Something else that these boxes prove is that they didn't count the blends as 3 color specials, or if they did, they wouldn't have put them here in the cheaper prize name boxes.

    Marble #3

    I think Pelt too.
  21. Fire damaged game marble.
  22. Some of the htf color combos of rainbos. Seems like the NLRs get all the limelight.
