Two votes (but mine probably only votes as a quarter in case of a tie )
-
I'd go Vitro (bear in mind my limited experience )
-
Thanks Winnie - sample bias all the ones I've picked up have been 20mm I think it's a slag - definitely not a wirepull
-
Not hand gathered, but it looks like a continuous run of white that's close to a corkscrew.
-
I hadn't ruled out Veiligglas, but it's 5/8 rather than the more usual larger 20mm of Veiligglas.
-
Spot on 5/8. White roughly corkscrew in caramel, came with mixture of American, European and Asian... Akro? Thanks

Spot on 5/8. White corkscrew in blue, came with mixture of American, European and Asian... Akro? Thanks

blue/green: green/brown? That's the lot for that bag. Please shout if anyone wants multiple views of any particular marble and I'll try and take them. For me there's a sumi-e quality about the swirls.

Am I anywhere near Master ing this id business?

Thanks both. Steph - that's pretty much the timeline I was thinking of. Winnie - Thanks - the sunburst type are some of the nicest Asian marbles I've seen. I hadn't considered India, but I know nothing of Indian production. -
Lovely colour and pattern

Do we have any idea where in Asia these were produced (or when)? They're lovely marbles. -
Thanks Ed - Rainbo's might me common but that doesn't diminish their charm.

These are so colourful and fun.

Thanks Winnie, they look a decent match. -
I've got four of these bags and these two are staying sealed. The other two have damaged headers so will be opened and photographed. Note the contents are very similar across all four bags and appear to be contemporaneous but there are two distinct typefaces used for 'Buddy':

Thank you for the kind words - I'v been an amateur photographer for many years and I have to say that getting decent shots of marbles is probably about the hardest thing I've found. Wildflowers on a windy day are a breeze compared to these things Nice shot - so are you saying they're a bit baseball? I can imagine arguments in long ago playgrounds as to whether their Pelt looked enough like a baseball or not

Three Ravenswood from my humble collection (I broke open my least good condition Buddy bag to take these ):

More photos. Further thoughts appreciated! Obviously the cat hair was included for scaling purposes and is nothing to do with having a helpful cat wonder why I was ignoring him and deliberately sit in the way... -
The top right marble in the first group and the right hand side marbles in the next group look very feasible Ravenswood to me unless I'm missing something (which is quite possible!).
