I sold this one in auction years ago but still have pix of it. I used to call it my "eyeball" for obvious reasons, Akro for sure, just interested what your opinion is as to the proper ID for this "Akro Friday"

.... Mmm yeah, I agree fully w/ Willy, it's like a never-ending Gobstopper of deliciousness, most excellent !! -
"Welcome to Marble Connection Michael" Well the one I have posted below is a cat eye, I have an idea on the other 2 can't make a positive ID w/ just the one view. Try and post @ least 3 or more different views of each individual marble, showing the seams if you can, size can also be a big determining factor (in fractions if possible) Again "Welcome" I'm sure someone else will chime in soon !!

Well I know we've all heard it before "If it seems to good to be true it usually is" not only in perfect shape but a totally unbelievable 1.5" I've never seen an authentic antique German red mica of this size. The pattern layout of the mica alone points me towards contemporary. There are getting to be some "very" good contemporary artist imitating old ways of making marbles, some honest & unfortunately some unsavory. This isn't a German antique handmade IMO If you have pix of one that even comes close to this size & condition "Please" post it. Please post your perspective on this, all comments & opinions are as always welcome and respected. Note the number of sales from this seller i.e. (1) & the lack of any other marbles or marble reflated materials, someone may be fishing ?? Agree w/ Akro

Just curious if you'd ever seen a German Solitaire box like that one. I know the Germans produced nearly all the marbles of the era for the English board market as the earlier larger faceted marbles were phased out due to the high demand for smaller gameboard nibs. Thanks for the pic and for chiming in Dave, that German box is a first for me also, evidently not to many of them floating around ??

... Mmm, more butter ... Good job Chad, this is turning out to be a very informative post -
Somebody was certainly thinking "outside the box" looks like a few may be those German Ilmenau cats ?? Hopefully they send some better pix !!

Wow Dave, impressive, great collection Dave, this one has been for floating around for sale on Ebay for a long, long time (years) I was wondering if you had any perspective on it or could place a value on it ?? Obviously not what their asking or it would have been gone long ago, probably because of the most common onionskin color around for mibs but that's just my take. Curious what you think ?? Well, I guess you could hit it w/ a light & see if it's uv Sherry, I see some clear transparent so I have my doubts, not common to see transparent clear in ade base glass but I guess there's always a first ? I seen the green tint in the first & second pic also but that little bit of clear has me leaning away from ade glass.

Natural Light, a man after my own heart, I've tried and tried but to no avail, I've seen some close attempts but I agree completely, nothing beats the real thing

Leaning Akro IMO, almost positive it's not Pelt "but" it does bear a striking resemblance to a Pelt Wolverine which I believe all are @ or below the .50 pee wee mark, the only thing holding me up is the dark colored base glass, Wolverines have a light white semitransparent base glass, the seams' are the same "straight " I'm sure it's not a Wolverine but I'm a bit puzzled @ this point ?? Peltier Wolverine
-
Almost sure it's Akro & almost positive on the oxblood, I have several Akro where the oxblood dives into the base glass, not common as Art said but something I like & look for, the op looks like the glass was folded @ some point during production (especially in the first pic) causing the oxblood to "dive" into the base glass IMO

Do you have a size ?? Is the base translucent or transparent ??
