  1. ...... Guess maybe there's no bottom to the fence I jumped off of ?? I shoulda stayed there, safe and sound like a chicken on it's roost !!
  2. One more for this Sunday. A .761" Akro Silver oxblood. Shown in the first pic on the right sitting next to it's 5/8ths counterpart. The flipside, this one taken indoors.
  3. " My Sunday Best" Not only my best but only uv. Peltier onyx slag. Highly reactive, rivaling even Akro ade glass. Not the rooster tail design that is so desirable but a nice clean banded pattern.
  4. More than one seam eliminates it as being a Miller, ok I'm gonna put my foot in it and say "Akro" just going by the seams !! Structure says several different manufactures "to me" as Rick said, guess I'm off the fence, good bad or indifferent ! AHhh !! Where's the bottom ???
  5. Ok ! Here's my answer Brother .... Guess I'll step in it and say the O.P. is a "whakro" ....

    I'm so proud

I had a stalky little Manx cat that had 7 toes on each front paw and 6 on each back. He grabbed thigs like he had baseball mits on, paper wads, balls, mice, birds, then toyed with everything because he knew once he had whatever in his mits there was no getting away. Many, many years ago but I still remember him & his stubborn little attitude like it was yesterday
  7. Agree w/ Steph, I see "Alley" also !! Not cutlines like a Christensen but swirls. I have a few Alleys very similar. "Thanks" for takin more pix Tommy !!
  8. A mix of some different sized Veiligglas wirepulls I got from a friend piled up in an Akro dart bowl.
  9. "Welcome to Marble Connection Leanne" So glad to have you, many years of experience on marbles and marble related material here w/ members more than willing to give ya a hand. Looks like some cat eye a wire pull and some other assorted goodies, all I can state for sure w/o better views. Try limiting your posts to a few marbles at a time w/ multiple views of each. A bit slower but much, much more accurate on the I.D. & the condition. Again "Welcome"
  10. STOOKIE: Term used in the late 1800's for a marble made of clay
  11. ..... Well it sounded (sweet) for a minute until I posted the entire definition "Please forgive" now I know what happened to some of my "would be" favs
  12. Wada score Brother !! Are they shooters ??
  13. SUBMARINE: A collectors' term for a rare design element present in some handmade and machine-made glass toy marbles, where a thread of color existing on the marbles surface plunges down into the interior of the sphere.
  14. SUGARING: A Players' term; Defines the roughing up of a glass marble's smooth surface to give it texture, allowing the player to get a better grip, obtain greater control, aim and more spin or English. Also called roughing.
  15. Just by the colors and uv. glow I'd say it's a funky carnelian
  16. Oop !! Found another Halloween mib researching something else, might have known who it was, I had forgotten all about Vacor !!
  17. I know mine came in a lot, sometime from somewhere ?? After a while it all becomes kind of a glassy blur ??
  18. x2, 😭 = more 😭😭😭 There should be a puddle forming anytime now ???
  19. Don't feel like the lone Ranger, I haven't the slightest where I got mine either Just happy to have it !! Anxious to see yours Brad !!
  20. "Happy Akro Friday" I know I've posted this marble before but this time an explanation of exactly where it came from & what it is. I.D. as an Akro French Drain marble, w/ an olive colored base glass and the familiar Akro construction including a nice patch of oxblood. Most of the French drain marbles were on the large size, this is a smaller one at nearly 11/16ths". For being found or "dug" this marble is in immaculate shape.
