Too bad it wasn't the set...

Will do!

I know and nope, haven't acquired one yet. Soon though!

Hope you had a great day out there! And I hope too see a score from ya! I nailed some slag pieces today (posted), did some shopping, and found an awesome California style food truck! The burritos were $12 apiece but well worth it! Totally loaded and weighed at least 2 pounds!

Awesome candlestick holders, also picked up today. Love em! In hand, it's like chocolate on peach with traces of midnight blue. Also unmarked so it's a mystery maker for now...

This "looks" Akro too me but unsure...the only markings are "NO 851"....just a gorgeous candlestick holder though π

Now that was a fun scroll! Great group! -
Hopefully your not too discouraged regarding your group of marbles. Collector value is measured by more than just age or value. It's basically all about what you like. I'm sure the ones in this group that were acquired by your grandmother are priceless too you! Every one of us have had and will have again our share of "hits" and "misses" when it comes to acquiring a mixed group of mibs. Never know what you will find! It's always fun finding that container or jar "out in the wild". They're all collectible, per say. Good luck in your search and feel free to inquire with the knowledgeable collectors here if you have questions prior to purchasing when on the hunt π

"We all live in a Peltier Submarine" ....the song just popped into my head while checking this out. If I could live in one, definitely this one versus a Yellow one! π -
"How are you helping too create a new generation of marble collectors"....that's a thread that bumblebee created a few months back. You should check out the Pokemon collectibles Akroorca posted there π

I'm hoping to see and hear you go "back to back to back" with conservative scores! Also as importantly, enjoy the trip. Looking forward to some pics of your day π I think we're going to drive down to Decorah, Iowa for a while later this morning, I'm going to check in with that lady at her antique store too see if she put out any more mibs. You know, the one who supposedly "sold all her husbands mibs"? Ever so often when I stop in there's more on the shelf in the back! Once again, enjoy getting out for some relaxation and fun my friend ππ

As an older collector in various fields of interest, and as a newer collector when it comes to the vast world of marbles; I can respectfully see the points made in both the pros and cons presented by my peers on this subject. Such is why I used the word "if" when saying Sherbet. Alot of unknowns regarding these "mystery" mibs. It will be interesting to see if future research does provide some kind of answers. Somewhere out there lies the answer to the beginning. Whether that answer is ever discovered remains to be seen. I would like too see something conclusive take place that will benefit the marble collecting community as it forges forward into undiscovered country π

2 weeks in a row...love it when good hits roll together! Your box looks great I'll add πOriginal price, I would think so, before sticker pricing was widespread π

It's just another trait that Marbleaholics have to contend with when struggling with their affliction...always nice too have our great counselors save the day! π€ͺ

Does anyone know what these were used for?
