Those are nice, could you take a couple of closer shots showing more detail of the mibs? π

Anyone up for a road trip to Georgia?
William replied to SherryFain's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Been a while for me in that area of the country, lived in Jacksonville, Florida the first part of my life until 93'. Couldn't remember what part of the state Gainesville was in so had to Google π€£....I still have extended family in Cordele as well as longtime friends in Waycross. My Stepfather's last name was Faircloth, his brother owned the liquor store there in Cordele for some time. Haven't been down that way since a 3 day visit too Lake City, Florida back in 2016. Concerning the marbles, old doesn't necessarily mean valuable and the seller's "claims" could be just what someone told him. I just couldn't see a collector knowingly tossing pricey mibs into a mass of commons, risking damage and such. I'm guessing he hasn't a clue about what's what in those containers. Hopefully someone negotiates and gets it down to a fair price! -
Wow, Gladys, I'm not sure what to say about the identity but that mib is sharp! π

I would have thought so too, Tommy...like it π

Make an offer, Sherry! Couldn't hurt. No one wants to overspend, but ya never know. We've all hit some nice little gems in jars/containers like that. My most memorable one thus far was an Akro Sparkler in a $12 jar. But obviously, we're looking at more than just a $12 jar. That's alot of fun in that picture. Not trying to push your buttons to buy, I just love the thrill of the chase. Maybe grab some advice from the pool of knowledge that is MarbleConnection. I think I know what I would offer. But what's the seller thinking? What's the seller know? Or doesn't Know? I would see what happens while trying to keep it in my budget π -

Nice....I'm all over the place, though still fond of Hair Nation. From James Brown to Kenney Chesney to Queensryche...one of many influences. Gotta say though, I love shooting a few good games of stick with some Zep! -
Oh yeah, and 1 triple cross through, red, white and blue, if those two qualify as tough to find...

I think I have 1 pink, a Vitro. Nice mibs there, Bill!

Agreed, something new and unknown every day π

I kind of had that feeling it would backpedal from $10, which I did hesitate with. I was pegging the majority if not all of the marbles of question as commons and looks to be the case. Was hoping the bag would help π€ Thanks for the thoughts, Ron!

I visited one of my antique haunts after work and one of the ladies that works there had some mibs too show me...she is interested in selling them and asked me what she had and what too ask for them. For the pile plus the leather bag they are in, I took a shot and said maybe $10. A good portion are cat's eyes and clearies, but there are some Marble King, Vitro and Pelt mixed in too (those of which I scooted to the right). I told her I would gather some opinions regarding ID and value then get back with her on Saturday. Also, wondering if the bag itself as far as origin? I don't see any identifying features, Mark's, etc; anywhere on it. She did state that she has seen this same bag before. Thanks for your input, my friends!
