WV glass - Any Blenko collectors out there?
William replied to schmoozer's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
In one of your pictures, in the back, I think I see the head of a fish, the fish is multicolored? Just curious, because I remember seeing a blown glass fish at one of my haunts... -
WV glass - Any Blenko collectors out there?

Interesting how glass can be made in a wood mold then spun too eliminate the mold lines. When I was antique dealing years ago, I came across a few pieces. I never collected Blenko but was interested enough at the time too look it up. It is nice quality and beautiful. It can be tough too identify with such a small percentage (if that's indeed correct) having been actually marked. The few pieces I had showed off tooling marks and pontils if I remember correctly. Maybe I'll keep my eyes open while treasure hunting, post some pics of any possibilities I come across! Great collection you have indeed! -

I like yours, couldn't get much closer to a heart than that, but who knows what's out there...I have found a few with "numbers" also.

Never saw one like this, happened during manufacturing I suppose. The pinkish tones and how you can't see through it are interesting...

Aww, that's a lotta cat 😊 my 2 big ones pictured in this thread were big also, as seen by the laundry basket they are sharing. Dominique was 16 pounds and Gabrielle was 15 pounds. Little Brittney was lucky to ever hit 8 pounds! Looked like a kitten her whole life.

Thanks for the input and opinions everyone! Thank you Steph for the tootsie pics!

I wanted it to be Pelt too, nothing inside the amber glass except bubbles. There's one thick hunk at the base of the smaller window against the glass that's visible when turning the marble in hand. (Where you see the 2 points sticking up in that window). I'm happy the consensus is Pelt 😊

Yeah, I didn't have them open this cabinet either, had been at this place a couple hours already and as with the liquor bottles in the "slag glass" thread, was way over my budget spent already. The owner of the place did say the pieces of interest too me have been there quite a while so pretty sure it's a safe bet they will be there in a couple weeks. Plenty of time to research. There's still stacks of plates, saucers, pitchers, cups, etc; there I have to pick up next time anyway if this piece doesn't pan out. Plus we didn't even get down too the basement level yet of this place! Thanks for the input fellas 😊

Not for sure but they are pretty cool!

Didn't look too see if what the makers mark was. By the time I found them was already over my budget today 😣
