  1. I tried using the scotch brite side of this dishwashing sponge with Dawn or Mr. Clean and had decent results. About as "abrasive" as I dared get.
  2. Cool! Makes me remember back when I was a kid, maybe 18 or so, and I got hired on with a concrete contractor too work during the construction of the King's Bay Naval Submarine Base in King's Bay, Georgia. I'll never forget it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  3. Steph, that just sucks. Sorry to hear about this sad event.
  4. HAHAHA, Off too the stockade with ya, you scurvy sea dog! Davey Jones is waiting for ya!
  5. You sure that's Ox? Or the Serpent's blood after the kiss of your Cutlass?
  6. No worries! Raise your scaley heads if you dare and you will taste my steel!
  7. I believe that you are correct on Pelt ๐Ÿ˜Š
  8. Nice group! Can't wait for others to take a peek but I think your right on with Pelt except for maybe the the 3rd pic? The white base with orange and red, I have an Akro shooter pretty much just like that but with alot less color...I like them though!
  9. I've got 8 locations within 50 miles of my home that I try to frequent at least once a month but for the most part it's the same mibs I have passed on still sitting there. At least 2 of these places have above average turnover as far as vendors restocking but it's still hit and miss when "new" stuff is found. I do have a good lead on a number of Akroware pieces, hopefully have them soon once I barter with the vendor. I Also know where a huge pile of mibs are but the shop owner won't sell. He displays them in two 1 gallon glass jars and a 2 foot tall giant glass fish for customers too "enjoy". Plus behind his counter is this old chest of drawers full of bags and Mason jars of mibs. He has literally 1,000's and judging from a good number of the ones I could see, nice ones. But he won't budge. It's what I would call my best score ever. Too be continued on that one. Pretty soon here I plan on going outside my box and hitting a few places I found with great potential, meaning that because of the size of these places. But other than a few pieces of Akroware and a slag piece or two, a big fat "0" for mibs in the past month and a half. Time to raise the anchor and hoist the mainsail, mates! Undiscovered country lies ahead!
  10. Congratulations indeed! What a wonderful day for your families! Happy Hunting in Norfolk, hope too see you in the "Score" thread ๐Ÿ˜Š
  11. Not at home so I can't contribute anything today but Happy Akro Friday everyone...great posts ๐Ÿ‘
  12. The last time I dug was in Florida in a small bamboo forest that was a known dumping area years ago. Before I moved up here in 93' I dug and found a Waycross, Georgia lisence plate dated 1967, an old tv screen with the green glass intact (made a table out of it), and a pink glass champagne bottle holder, which I still have ๐Ÿ˜Š
  13. It's posted in the "Akro Product" thread, I just decided too snap a new pic ๐Ÿ˜Š
  14. I'm pretty sure you did because I remember them but I don't think it was here? It is nice glassware though ๐Ÿ˜Š
  15. Gladys, check out the "My other interest" thread in the lounge...pretty sure he shared some with me there! ๐Ÿ˜Š
  16. It was pretty tasty, minus the Duffy beer ๐Ÿคฃ
  17. By the way, pretty sure the cool hand is Boyd's Crystal art glass, I have seen this trademark on their work ๐Ÿ˜Š
  18. It's all good, man....very nice score indeed! There's a few places you post your goods.....the "Score" thread in the Marble and Glass chat forum (which is for all the goodies we find ๐Ÿ˜Š); also you can post your cool slag in "Slag Glass Scores" and your Akro stuff in "Akro Product", both of these are also in the aforementioned forum. I like posting everything together that I score with a few group pics in the "Score" thread, then I branch out to the other threads for more detailed, individual pics. Too each his own though! Have fun and looking forward to seeing some of those mibs in those jars! ๐Ÿ‘
