  1. Here is a link to some images of what were sold as marbles and used for playing the game. https://marbleconnection.com/topic/32644-agate-hunting/#comment-282961 Many glass marble makers used the name agate in the company name or the names of individual marbles that they made. The stone agates were the big competition when glass marble making started to expand. They were produced in germany, on our west coast and possibly a few other arenas as well. I will post an image below of one that has been used and used and used. They were hard to break and they beat up the the glass marbles quite frequently. All of the little eyes on the marble in the image are hit marks. The brighter image is backlit. I think that yours are orbs--not marbles, or designed to be played in the game--imho. Marble--On!!
  2. I do not own one but I always thought that they were cool. Yours are in ruff shapee. Do a simple google search for glass marble reflectors, hit images, and be rewarded. They are pretty old, I do not have anything exact for age though. Marble--On!!

  12. I tried to keep in touch with my daughter during her first deployment in Iraq through food and what ever else I could do to feel her presence. This recipe has stuck with me, it is very good Iraqi Chicken and Chickpea Stew 1ā„4 cup canola oil 6 cloves garlic 3 small onions, quartered 4 medium waxy-style potatoes, peeled and quartered 2 bay leaves 2TBS yellow curry powder 1 TBS ground turmeric 1 TBS kosher salt 4 skinless chicken legs (about 1 lb.) 4 skinless chicken thighs (about 1 lb.) 1 19-oz. can chickpeas, drained 1 lemon, quartered 1 TBS dried sumac (optional) Flat bread--Naan 1. Heat oil in a 6-qt. pot over medium-high heat. Add garlic, onions, potatoes, bay leaves, spice mixture, turmeric, and salt. Cook, stirring and scraping bottom of pot occasionally, until onions and potatoes are golden, about 10 minutes. Add chicken and 3 1ā„2 cups chicken stock; stir to combine. Bring to a boil over high heat, reduce heat to medium, and simmer, uncovered, until chicken is tender and cooked through, 20ā€“25 minutes. 2. Add chickpeas; cook for 5 minutes more. Taste the stew and season with more salt, to taste. Line 4 bowls with torn pieces of the flat bread. Ladle stew over bread. Squeeze a wedge of lemon over each bowl and sprinkle with sumac.
