  1. Yes, do it and get as many opinions as possible. Marble--On!!
  2. Good post Pittsburgh. I have collected all of my life--old cool stuff that was in my opinion--just “old cool stuff”. It started with furniture that was defunct is most opinions, given the prices that I paid back in my auction attending days. None of my family before me or any current family ever "collected"--anything at all. I am the odd duck. My older Brother is into collecting cars—but that has its limits. He was always been a mechanic, I am just a fixer (my wife says that I can fix anything). History was always a fascination with me. I really wanted to grow up and be an anthropologist. This is a thing that never happened and it is not so surprising, because people are not my thing—just not my thing. I love my fellow human race but I do not like being around them—for too long anyhow. I have collected so many things that I would bore you to list them. Marbles caught me and they have held me for about 30 years now. I cannot explain it. I still pick up the occasional “cool old thing “once in awhile though. My only other interests are gardening and bird watching—life long interests. The odd thing with me is –once I have it, I have no problem passing it on to the next—or the next (even my hard grown vegetables’). My display is small and it consists of boxes mainly. I sold some marbles years ago—just not my thing. For whatever reason—I just love Akro Agate glass—it is hard to part with for me—but I will sooner than later. My kids, grandkids and great grandkids would be overwhelmed. I have more respect for marbles and marble collectors than I do for money—oh well. If I ever go to another show, I may well set up a free table and pass it all on to the next generation. On to the next—pass them along! Marble—On!!
  3. I posted this one in another thread yesterday. It took me so much time that it is worth another shot here. I think that it is a game marble with pollution—but it swirls---and it is a peewee. Marble—On!!
  4. Dithering--great word! I will continue as well----dithering---at least here someone will set me straight. Marble--On!!
  5. Nice job Mojo! What is the very first one--killer marble--they all are of course. Marble--On!!
  6. Nice find Melissa--not an Akro but a hand-gathered "Japanese" transitional. I have read some postings just lately about some Canadian marbles—I wonder if? Nice find— Marble—On!!
  7. OK schmoozer--now I see it--Good call for sure. Marble--On!!
  8. Nice stuff Ron Marble--On!!
  9. You did well Mercy to get any Id's on these. Great images and numbered as well. Work less in the future and give us three or four marbles at a time with multiple images. It gives you and us here a greater chance at a positive ID. Welcome Mercy---show some more!! Marble--On!!
  10. It could be Ric--good call. Lets all agree that the top left is a PPP---or? Patches are hard--no doubt. Marble--On!
  11. Hey Ric, I must have hit enter just a second before you--good call by the way---JINX Marble--On!!
  12. That is one killer cork marboman! Marble--On!!
  13. Hello Newton, Welcome to the "MarbleConnection". We all hope to see some more of your marbles posted for our pleasure to look at and for ID as well. You will get the best from all of us here--always. There is only one color in slag marbles. Red, green, blue, purple, yellow, etc etc etc--all include white. Yours may be a CAC but more images are needed of the cutoff line. As it stands, with the images that you provided, it is an Akro--a nice one--red imho. Akro "Cardinal Red"--nice marble! I appreciate all opinions and hope for some more. Marble--On!!
  14. I knew it Ron--Good job!--mushy or not!! Marble--On!!
  15. Just regarding the original Post There are folks that collect “Turkey looking “marbles and the first one may apply. It is a WVS—not a CAC imho. More help is needed with the ID or maker from the WVS experts. The “Snotty” is a very collectable name for reasons unknown to me. In this day and age it may be a “snotty” looking marble—just not a CAC imho. I appreciate all opinions and hope for some more Booger---oops -- Marble on!!
  16. I agree, everything that I see says Vitro--including the rust marks. Some rust marks should just stay. Nice one! Marble--On!!
  17. It is hard for me to imagine even a fold in an MFC. This is a very nice looking marble--maybe you convinced me. Marble--On!!
  18. Ramps are just around the corner---they must be green with a bit o white and taste like onions and garlic mixed together--not that I taste my marbles--ever--even in front of my older grandkids--LOL. Ramps are fine dining!! Marble--On!!
  19. Here is one that caught my eye. It is a peewee—just barely. Notice the copper and the silver colors—even a bit of rust. The metal dives in and out of the matrix—do not ask me why this happened—it just did—a product of machine made marble production is good enough for me. If it did not have the metallic look-I would call it a game marble. This is a game marble on steroids—and I just love it. No maker from me! Marble—On!!
  20. I agree with Ron 100%--except for the price--I would take a stab at $35.00 just because I am a bottom feeder and you can only show one side😁. I will admit that at first I thought that it may be either a CAC or a very wild Vacor. The blowout made me think CAC--pretty common with CAC--the colors made me think--is that just a wild Vacor? It is an Alley IMHO. Marble--On!!
  21. Me too, Educate yourself before you buy. It is as simple as that. The Marble Connection is always open to opinions on buying and grading. That may stop some from a buying frenzy--but not all for sure. If you really are sure--check the worth. If not, check the others here and get some opinions before you throw good money at bad marbles. Do not get me wrong--If I want it--I will get it, but only to a point that makes some reasonable sense. If any one wants to trade a bunch of beat up marbles for say--a pair of nice gloves or mittens--contact me. It is getting to be winter--finally. Marble--On!!
  22. @wvrons I will give him a heads up--Very interesting for sure. Marble--On!!
  23. Nice find and but regardless--check your ID on these "sulpides" The last image may have an Akro at the very top. The two yellows next to the big firkin “steelies”--check them for opalescence—they may be Akro “Flinties”. Nice buy—nice find!!! Marble—On!!
