Another day another favorite--- I have shown this frame before and I will show it again today. These frames originally came with one color of marble generally transparent colored blue or clear with a frosted finish in my experience. I am trying to get a bigger frame of this type filled but these frames only accept 9/16” marbles and I want to fill it with Akro corks. Akro did make 9/16” marbles but they are pretty hard to find—a work in progress. The nice thing is that only one side shows—still a hard find for me. I just love this stuff—collecting that is. Marble—On!!

You got them all--good job! I think that they are all Akro😁. (I want them all to be Akro) I appreciate all opinions and hope to see some more. Marble--On!! -
Right on! Nice feathering for sure! The thing that some collectors may miss is the fact that this “Feathering” continues into the base glass. That is why I say—“Backlight them all”. Get a good rechargeable “Pen light” and get it on. The smaller lights are also available with “UV light”. These are commonly used to search hotel rooms for bed bug detritus and in the Southwest—Scorpions. Yuk to both (I would eat a scorpion—I have heard that they taste like shrimp) I am OK with anything crunchy. Marble—On!!

I will no doubt repeat this again but our old friend Ron described how the rollers were repaired with copper back in the day. There were pits that formed due to the constant heat that was applied, especially in the upper regions of the rollers. Copper was used to fill the pits in to make the roller smooth again. Welding them in with iron/steel would be less cost/time efficient. (At that time at least) The most efficient repair to keep the marbles moving is what was used. Copper was/is cheaper and it has a higher melting point than silver. This may explain the copper marks on your marble well enough. They may have been some of the first off the line after a repair to the rollers. I am just passing on some wisdom that I have always appreciated—I just had to ask and he (Ron—amongst many others) were there with at the very least an educated guess. Ask aways—on anything regarding marbles and their construction. I, along with many here, have gathered much wisdom to pass on and once in awhile I/We will try to remember it and try our best to pass it on as well. Marble—On!!

Just pick out your favorite marble/marble related item and post it. I will!😁--a really tuff assignment, I know--just pick your favorite today--still tuff but here goes--- I never met Nadine MacDonald in person. She was the pinnacle of”just being a nice person” that collected marbles. She shared all of her knowledge freely and never with any contempt for those who challenged her. She was a “Marble Jedi” for sure. (She did know her Pelts very well) She also made some hand painted and glazed marbles that should be cherished by all. This one is one inch and I feel blessed just to have it. Marble—On Nadine!!

You are correct as far as I can tell---a "simple rainbo". Marble--On!!

The "Little" one is a Pelt Rebel--look for AV in the black--I think that I see some. I see no Oxblood included. The larger one is not a Pelt imho----a Vitro--"Buttermilk" is my call here. I appreciate all opinions and hope to see some more. Marble--On!!

Pretty cool marble. Not many bubbles involoved either--different. This one is a Peltier "Rainbo". I am not a name expert--but this one looks too dark to be a "Tomato". I have grown many tomatoes in the back yard and the "Black" varieties are my faves. I appreciate all opinions and hope to see some more--- Marble--On!!

Well--well --well !!, You never know do you? This is a first for me. I would not call it "Lutz”. It looks like a machine made marble to me. That is about as black as any that I can remember as being called “black” Let’s call in a @cheese for an opinion. Happy Holidays all. Marble—On!!
