I like the name @Nantucketdink but I do not recognize the marbles. Your ID seems to fit What are they? (I am guessing English). I learn something here every day! Marble—On!!

A blue slag marble with wings
akroorka replied to The Nickel Guy's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
I think that it is cool too and these are some of my favorites as well. The top left images also shows some "Feathering" in the blue matrix----very cool!!! I do not know if you backlight your marbles but try it if you do not. A smaller flashlight like a "pen" light will do the best to shine through the marble with no light blare for the eyes. Once again--nice find! Marble--On!! -
Good eye Linda Gail! Nice marble--for sure! Marble--On!!

Hmmm, I see it as being 9/16". I may be in trouble here with my conversions--oh well. I have been out of it too long--I will get back to it-----pretty soon. I appreciate all for your imput. Marble--On!!

Size matters as always. The images show me an out of round Jabo "Classic" in a larger size. Just saying--- I appreciate all opinions’ for sure Marble--On!!

Good try to squeeze a good ID out of a Jabo my friend, these are worth it. Nice looking marbles--very close to your ID. Marble--On!!

Nice images Melissa--very nice! No CAC here imho--a very nice WVS. Marble--On!!

With Vacor marbles (all marbles for that matter) size is important. I agree that these look more like Vacor than anything else that I can imagine. The first marble appears to be smaller than the second one imho. The larger marble will get different coverage of the colors—in most cases. My Vote is that you are right on here. Marble--On!!

OK here I go quoting myself again— This one looks so similar to many newer modern machine made “Contract or “Shop Made” marbles (you all know them) that crisp clear images are needed for the most part in this ID. I went back to the top looking for “Play wear” or “Pocket wear”. It is evident that there is some here. The seams look right for a Pelt—good job figuring that out. This one is a Pelt Christmas Tree. (imho) Marble—On!!

I agree with Melissa--nice find, nice ID as well! Marble--On!!

I agree with Al--the first image shows a straight cut mark--it may be a fracture though. I think that all posted are more than likely some form or make of a WVS. Nice images! Marble—On!!

Ok …. Pelts? ….. gray coat? Some others? Fruit cocktail?

We collectors used to call these "Millers". This one is an older Pelt imho--very nice and quite valuable imho. I am waiting to see what the best of the best have to say--it is worth a bump up. Marble--On!! -
My first response was an internal cackle---wow! They are still out there! Good find! Marble—On!!

I can see why the opinions are wide apart--this one is not an easy ID. I have said this before and I will say it again—these hard ID’s come down sometimes to condition. This marble does not look like a recent make. The glass looks hard and true enough to call it a well cooked glass player type @5/8” in my world. There is evidence of play wear here with this one. I believe that this one is a “production made” marble intended for play back in the “Vintage” years. I would try to get in contact with some “UK “marble dealers for a final evaluation. This is my best my friend—after much consideration. It is a very nice find regardless of the ID—just a killer marble!! Marble—On!!

Question about Members following you

There is no a black SUV that I cannot out run and if it comes to that--I will pull out my lightsaber--just for defense of course😁. Marble--On!! -
The images do not show the cutmarks enough for me to make a call. The size is also an important factor. Marble--On!!

I agree 100%. Marble--On!!

The first image still has me guessing after looking at all of the images. I have studied Vacor vs Peltier for years now---50-50 imho, I do not see any AV present in the images but I will lean towards a Pelt here. Let’s get to the real guts of this post--the "Greycoat". This one is what I would call a “tweener”—in-between a Pelt “Liberty” and a Pelt “Greycoat”. "Greycoats" are known to have an opaque grey color, this one does not show that imho. @IowaMarble and @Chad G. may have better opinions of this one, they are my go-to for rare Pelt info. It is a nice marble--not too common for sure. Marble--On!! -
Hello and good morning! My marble collecting friend.
akroorka replied to boris64's topic in Marble I.D.'s
Second image—top left—may be an “Aqua Marine”, weak imho but true. I agree that you have a few “Buttermilks” involved here. Size is always a matter to consider and I see them as 5/8". Vitro have so many names involved that @Ric may have to sort these out. I agree with @Fire1981—all Vitro. Nice group!!! Marble—On!! -
Ok…. Hope this is helpful for all… here maybe a few cac and others.
akroorka replied to boris64's topic in Marble I.D.'s
They all have CAC attributes for sure. If these came from an “older” collection there are bound to be a few Alley Agates involved. I remember back when the Alley “Pistachio” was considered to be a valuable CAC. The diggers such as @Ric and @cheese blew this idea away. Image three—lower right—not too sure about that one. The “Snotty” thing—well I have never held one or seen one in person and I have always thought of these as a classic example of a named marble—give them a name and everyone wants one—not me—I do like the name though, no opinion here. The yellow slag is the very best slag ever made imho—I just love them. Yours is one imho—just not the best—but very cool to see. A little more white and this one would take off! Thanks for showing them all! Marble—On!!
