That is better. I cannot evaluate or ID these for you because "Painted Chinas" are out of my realm. These images will help those that are. Marble--On!!! -
Well, this one is still a tough one. The thing that made me do some more research is the presence of two āpullā seams which I have highlighted. These āpullsā or stretches are often seen in Peltiers. Probably just stretches of glass that got rounded into the orb. I did some research and found some āred Beesā that looked awfully close in construction and depth to mine. That being saidāit may very well be a Marble-King. They can be very close to each other sometimes. I was probably smarter back when I sorted it into my MK stash, I prefer to think not.š¤Ŗ Sometimes you just have to call them like you see them. In-hand is always an advantage over a posted image. Still a nice example of either maker. MarbleāOn!!!

Vacor "Serpents" come in a variety of colors, brightness and beauty. They have made several runs of these. Marble--On!!!

Well, Grandma had a lot of marbles from Mexico. There may be a few vintage USA made in that bunch as well, no real big money marbles but there is one yellow and blue one that may be an Akro Agate corkscrew in the second set of images. I suggest getting the last images out of the bag and getting some images of them for evaulation. Marble--On!!! -
Check this link out. If there are markings, it may be something else. I was refering to the outer chip that is still attached. It appears that some may be on the inner layer as well. https://southwestexplorers.com/what-is-an-indian-marble/ Marble--On!!!

Here is a link that shows one similar to yours (scroll down to the size display) that is a Vacor. I could not find an example with a name however. The second link has a nice video that shows some marble making in Mexico. Glassfirma must be a partnership that Vacor belongs to. The website shows a map that includes China as a satellite of the firm. This all being said.; the marble that you show is a big one and my first impression was āVintage USAā but the size limits that to just a few. The yellow has some depth to it that I do not expect to see from a Vacor, could be a Jabo but I lean towards more of a vintage marble. If it was smaller it could be any of many manufacturers. More input needed for sure. http://www.glasfirma.com/toys/vacor-marbles http://www.glasfirma.com/about-glasfirma MarbleāOn!!!

This is a cool old marble and it may be some form of multi layered clay, it could be ancient or it could be mineral. It looks like it was fired/glazed and covered again and then fired/glazed once moreākind of an odd thing. The way that the layers are chipped off does look like it has been wrapped in several layers of clay of some sort. I played around with it on my photo editor and I have two questions. The first set of images shows a fissure and I would like to know what it looks like inside of the dark area that I highlighted The second set of images shows what appears to be some form of marking. I highlighted this as well. Nice images! MarbleāOn!!

Great images and set--This is what we like to see for an ID question. Sorry, no corkscrews here. You will find one-count on it! More input needed on the rest. Marble--On!!!

The only thing common that I see is the carpet that they are sitting on--another great bunch of boxes. Nice clean carpet too, thanks for vacuuming!š Marble--On!!!

Hmmmm--a bit slow for a Peltier Tuesday--lets light it up. The high ends are great-- but lets try this "common". 1" and as wet as it it gets. Show us some more

I had some spare time on my hands so I though that I would break down a few for you to concentrate on and post. Try to get several images of each and keep them to no more that three marbles at a time per post. Do not worry about any damage, just give us good images. There may be a few Jabo here in your post, but most are from Mexico--some may be vintage. I have circled the ones that interest me the most.

What camera and setup do you use?
akroorka replied to schmoozer's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Thanks Ron, My new camera is kicking my---Just too much for this old mind to wrap around. I purchased one like you have with a oem bag, memory sticks, a battery and a charger for $30. About $450 less than my new camera. Live and learn--that was a lot of marble money.š Marble--On!! -
No AV means "Red Bee"--am I right? I found this one in amongst my MK's while looking for one to post yesterday. They can fool you for sure.

Good job, those are the right colors. Cool marble non-the-less. Marble--On!!

I agree with Ron, These are nice looking marbles. I have found a few that I really wanted to be Akros----not quite, but nice to dream. Marble--On!!!

Thats a good question Chuck. I have not seen any thing smaller that 9/16" represented in a "Akro Sales Mens" box. I have seen a few Pee wees--but I'll bet that they all came out of the ground--bound to happen IMHO. Any opinions are of course welcomed. Marble--On!!

Here is another that I am not quite/pretty sure on--some great oxblood in this one. Tell me what you think. Thanks and Marble--On!!!
