I like Furnace mibs as well and have not ever been able to pay up for the asking price. There are none in my collection---but there will be someday. Things are getting mixed up with estates and marbles as of late on E-Bay, I purchased a sweet Vacor Atmophere (in a lot of commons) just lately because they are hard to ID. Do your research and be patient is always my motto. I would of course trade for one but I will always be on the losing end of trades as well---worth wise---- because I just don't care when it comes to getting what I want and giving up what I do not want. Unfortunalty, for the "no furnace marbles" in my collection, I will always go after Akro's. One always has their preferences in collecting. Marble--On!!

That is a great one---just loaded with AV--top notch for sure! Spruced up for me means a white t-shirt with some camo shorts. I was never too fancy--- Grunge --On!!!

Is There Such a Thing as a Vitro Sweet Pea?
akroorka replied to Marbleized's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Still a nice marble--how about a bluepea? Marble--On!! -
Try this on for size---look for any White on Black corkscrews, they are rare, there are plenty of Black on White. Yellow on top of any kind of white in a corkscrew is a hard find. I have no explaination as to why. Marble--On!!

Chad and Art--Twins forever from this point on.---twins do not always agree. We may not be identical. One from W---isconsin one from W---ashington. Both with a case of the Blues----

OK, Now I get it, if not a tree---- and not an Ash tree especially (they are all dead or dying around me)—I would be this almost-a marble. I have touched and felt and looked at this one way more that any that I may have. I remember Gino, the Peltier King wanting to buy it from me or make a trade--- sorry too special to me even back then, and he offered me a great deal. This almost Akro marble is a Step-child for sure. If you have ever felt afraid of posting or asking about anything on this site, or you have felt like a step-child on other sites—fear not, all are accepted here, along with your opinions and insights. They will be regarded as a learning tool to the masses that are involved with this site. I have felt this “step child way” way plenty of times but never here. I appreciate all that all of you have done, to accept the ones that are not accepted in the other worlds and sites of marble collecting. No judgment and no ill words, just acceptance and patience. This site rocks and welcomes all regardless of experience or knowledge. Keep on marbling and keep on posting and asking. Marble—On!!!

Nothing wrong with stirring--I'll help. One of these is .94 the other is .95. Rainbos that look close to yours in color. This color of rainbo gets pretty sloppy with the color amounts and coverage--just sayin. Marble--On!!!

Post Your Marble Displays/Collections.
akroorka replied to PittsburghMarbles's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Here are my two Marble pals, Sluggo and Luigi. Sluggo—the tan one, has been known to find any marble that I drop—I really have to watch because I am an oaf when it comes to handling marbles. Luigi is just the loyal “always there” dog that anyone would love. Marble—On!! and “Marble pal” on as well!!! -

I do not have any really large marble displays. I do display any Akro Agate that I come across in a variety of ways. These qualify in my world. A large sugar bowl and a small sugar bowl---they sure had a bigger sweet tooth in the past than I ever did. More than likely found in the great “greasy spoon” restaurants of the past rather than the home environment. 5 ¾” and 4 ¾” across the top of the chrome, notice the spoon slots---they are very heavy---unmarked. I sort my beat up corkscrews in the big one and Oxblood, Sparklers and Popeye’s in the smaller one. They are unmarked and definitely Akro Agate Ware. I love this stuff and use it whenever I can to highlight my Akro scores. Akro -- on and Marble---On for sure!!! -
Akro Agate made what are probably the highest quality marbles ever produced. Seams and folds may appear on the marbles that they made but a quality end product was always pursued. If you find a marble such as the one that you posted with a flawless factory surface I would still not call it an Akro or a Master Marble just because of the seams. It is not a Pelt imho, it may be a Vitro, they did have deeper colors such as this. I am glad to have my 17 year olds pushing past fourty--do they ever grow up???? Confusion---On!! and Marble--On as well!!! Thanks for sharing this one.

Great info on a little known subject. I respect all of that work that you are doing and enjoy the fruits of all of your efforts as well. PM me if you ever need any ideas on raising cash to keep this baby rolling. I have a few ideas and would never expect you to "out of pocket" for our enjoyment. Marble--On and Admin on as well----Great job!!! Thank-You !!!!!!! -
That is scary Chad. I would love to say great minds think alike--but the greatness is history here. I do have a few flashes of brilliance from time to time---like a dug Sparkler double Ingot with a little dust mixed in. Marble--On!!

Nice images. The blue and white would sit with my small Veliglas collection--just sayin. I have seen this company name spelled a number of ways--I think that I just destroyed it again--set us straight Chris. Marble--On!!

Double Ingot Gladys. This is not one IMHO. Glad---lol, to see I am not the only one with marble terminology brain freeze. Steph is about as close on this one as anyone may be. A fun one for sure. Thanks for sharing it with us. Double--Ingot--On!!!
