Ok, I know, a lot of images--I am not quite/pretty sure that this is MK. The base glass is actualy a blue-ish tinted transparent--I have to get some full spectrum bulbs for my back-lighting. Tell me what you think. Marble--On!!!

Great examples for sure Ron. The ones with the face--gargoyle? are pretty cool and big for sure. I put a magnet on mine to make sure--it stuck like it would on the train tracks. Google these and you will be amazed at the different styles and applications. Still no clue on how they got these inside of a cast iron foot. I'll use them for something--I see a new marble stand coming. Marble--On!! -

Excellent--Love the feet and the marbles are killer. What are the teeth?----Very cool!!!--- did you make this? Marble--On!! -
As a new collector--you have to know when to pull your teeth in. You have shown us plenty of marbles that you have that still need to research. I would offer $35 and walk away--just because I have never seen some of these tags before. I have been collecting for a lot of years and still have to pull mine in--make an offer and don't back down unless a counter offer is close--within $5-$8 or so. Collect what you like--not as an investment. I do not know how deep your pockets are--slow down and keep it in all in perspective. Allways be tough on the seller--he/she will still be making money no doubt. Marble--On!!!

As far as the metal calipers go, I just had a thought. Tape the edges and zero them that way. Way too easy but I just thought of it. Marble--On!!

Still researching the ones that I posted at the top. The ones that I have are just over 1# a piece. The feet/talons are hollow. I found a set online that matched mine but they claimed that they held 3" orbs. Still no clue on how they got those things inside of the foot. I figure on Chads suggestion that they(the orbs) may have been "annealed" or gradually cooled inside of the mold on some kind of rod, hence the "nubs". I would love to see some more. Thanks and Marble--On!!! -
I use one of these when I am backfilling boxes. The companies that filled them were not as fussy as we as collectors may become. If it does not fit through a 9/16" hole and it does fit through a 5/8" hole--good enough for me, 5/8" it is. I also use it when sorting marbles into individual sizes. Quick and efficient. I also own several different calipers, The plastic ones are the way to go but if you are really splitting hairs, the metal ones are more accurate. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007RH8QWI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Here is a great link I think that Chad G. posted a few days ago it loads a little slow but it is worth it. I think that you will find yours here. Vacor Patriot IMHO--great marble. Thanks Chad! https://www.billes-en-tete.com/liste_billes.php Marble--On!!

I just watched this video(again) full screen on my PC--great stuff--well done. Just keep your trigger finger on the pause button. I think three veli and one jabo is right. Every dog had their day with AV in green colors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYw2-B4BWnc

Bluetooth? Transfer files to a PC through a USB cord? Don't give up on those images yet. There is always someone out there on the web with way more tech knowledge than we may think. I just transfered some files via blutooth from my old---yes flip-phone to a new flip-phone. "The seam indicates to me these might be from a mold ?? The "nub" must serve some purpose ?? Maybe the glass was pushed onto the "nub" hot while held in a mold ??" Definitely a possibility--great thinking. Different sized holders would explain the different sized “nubs”. Some glass on one of them suggests that it may have been pushed out into a little pile next to the hole. I cannot image that one though. Marble—On!! -
Lets try this--Give us a little history on this find. If you can show some marbles that came with this one it may help--maybe a last resort but worth a try. If it is not what we think, we can agree on what it is not. First of all it is not a wirepull.

I agree--the bigger one may be a "Contract" marble as well. I do not see many Veiligglas but the AV just looks out of place. Marble--on!!!

The nubs are actually empty spaces inside of the glass. The first images show the top of one from inside of the chamber of the foot. It must be part of the glass making process, as it serves no purpose, at least in this application. I have four of these from the same set and the “nubs” are all a little bit different in size and depth. One of them has a lump of glass at the perimeter of the hole. The second image shows a leg that is original to the set. I have come to the conclusion that it was a set of legs to a “Candle Table”. I only ever had the legs. The angle of the wear on the balls and the way that the legs attach to the feet point towards an angled leg attached to a smaller square table. Perhaps 24’x24”. The third images show that they are a four talon foot. All are very tight an immoveable. The glass shows that old world UV reactiveness. I have had these for years, figuring that I would find a use for them sooner or later. The other two are now ends to a large curtain rod. Yes they are sitting on old tack holders/racks as well--I love this old stuff and repurpose when I can. Marble—On!!! -
An Introduction to Cairo Novelty Marbles

So it is Karo, like the corn syrup--revelation to me as well. Thanks Steph. Marble--On!! -
I would call these "not common" for sure. That being said, any marble, by any maker, is uncommon if it is over 3/4" IMHO. Akro made a bunch of big marbles--7/8"-------I would have to look further into my stash but I bet that there are more 1" Akro marbles than 7/8". Akro Friday--On!!

I will always call them as I see them and welcome any other views or ID's--I may have cheated☠️. All are Akro IMHO except the marked ones.

Mojo, If you post both sides or both seams you may have more takers. Patches can be buggers. I will always take a leap---on them all---later on 💤 nap time. Marble--On!!

Bagged marbles from a Swedish country store!
akroorka replied to Chris Parson's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
I had a seller ship a pretty rare box to me in a padded mailer once. It was not pretty. Since then I always give instructions on the way that I want the item to be packed. I have met no resistance to my requests, basically because I will have to take any/some blame if it arrives damaged. I can live with that. I have had many sellers thank me, especially regarding large lots of marbles. I do like to see extra time regarding shipping any item because a lot of things are prepackaged and they have to redo the packing that I requested. I have plenty of patience as a collector. I would rather wait for two weeks, rather than four days, if it is done right. If a seller keeps me happy in my individual transaction, I will always leave positive feedback. I have never left anything negative. Nice tip on the vacuum packaging Chad. Marble—On!!! -
Nice cat, I think that he/she wants to keep a few. As far as selling--I am not much of a seller. If you have quality marbles, they will always sell. Good Luck.

Have you been mooned lately? What an Akro Moonie looks like under overcast natural light sky—brilliant!

I did some research on the Wildflower run and the only images that I could find were on E-bay. The seller( and I have no reason to doubt him) claims that this run was done earlier this year which would explain the lack of images on the net. There are a few in the left hand box with similar colors, yours would be a standout for sure--great marble. here is a link https://www.ebay.com/itm/164882372391 Marble--On!!!

I saw the other images of the car in the ID post that you did. It is without a doubt a Tucker, which makes it even cooler than real cool. Tucker automobiles are about as rare as a marble salemans case. Whoever made yours did a nice job. Tucker--On!!

Carpet bowling perhaps. Can you imagine all of those little feet stepping on shards of glass. Great fun for all--times sure have changed.---No choking hazard here though. Nice ones for sure!
