Is the white translucent with swirls visible on this one? Marble--On!!

This one looks to be a veneered marble from the images. Veneered meaning the colors are spread thin over a white base(on this one ) If this is the case with this one, an ID will be a tad easier. Marble--On!!

I have seen Akro opaques/solids with this look. Some game marbles will have it also. Akro marketed their opaque colored marbles under the name ”Opals”. You may have to do some searching but there are a few boxes of 100 out there on the web. If you take a bright “penlight” and shine it throw the holes side to side and it does not get though at all, it is probably an “Opal”. Sometimes Flinties just have an outer glow to them like the sun during a full eclipse Check the lot that these came out of for more opaque marbles of different colors for this size. Marble—On!!

Good stuff Joe. There is nothing like planting a seed and watching it grow to become in many cases, a fruitful venture. At the end of my season, when I am cutting up my plants from the garden and putting them into the compost bed, I feel sad and thankfull at the same time. I have planted many trees in my lifetime, and I continue to do so. My kids are in a very nice place visiting what they helped to grow and plant. Garden--On!!

I like these too William, I wonder who made them. Pink or purple in a marble is aways a cool thing. Gray is just different for sure. Marble--On!!

I have one that is the repair bin. I took it out and sniffed it--just because. Guess what, it smells just like a Popeye marble, now you know. Marble--On!!

Do not be afraid of a lack of knowledge, we all have it in one form or another regarding marbles. Some know this and some know that and there are alot of this and thats. We are all here to help sort it out. There are very few experts in the entire field of collecting marbles. Just remember to Marble--On!

I really think that this one is the real deal Ric. Just another version, early or late I cannot say. There was another pouch that had a full fledged Popeye on it--bigger box I believe. All that I know is watching this is like a dog watching TV--out of my realm, I think that a nap is better--LOL These bags are being reproduced--just not the same--so far. This is a very nice marble and the images are stellar. The middle image in the top group is very interesting. I would sort it as a Master Made marble. Love it!! Marble—On!!

Funny thing Ric, I agree but in the reverse. The one on the right is a Vitro, the middle one is an Akro. The one one the left---Foreign, Imperial perhaps. It may be a Master Marble--On!!

Hmmm, Sorry Ric. Stress fractures, size, colors. It is not a Pelt. I would hate to call it a Master. Experimental Akro perhaps. Marble—On!!

These are seen in blue and white, often called Delft and more common than this color for sure. Not hand painted but using form of transfer glaze. The hole may have been made for a hanger of some sort. Porcelain, clay etc etc, who cares. It is a very cool find. Do not drop it--LOL.

Well, this is an odd one. It sure looks like it wants to be a corkscrew then decided to be a slag. More opinions needed. Marble--On!!

The two red white and blue have been a topic for discussion before. Akro-Vitro-MK The red white and black next to them may be a vitro. The rest look MK to me. Marble--On!!

The pouch appears to have been made inside out, on the front at least. The popeye pouches are “leatherette” with a smooth leather feel to the outside of the fabric. The inside of the pouch will have more of a fabric look to it. The pouch also has a less commonly seen zig-zag cut to the top rather than the more common scalloped cut. These zig-zag pouches will show a deeper seam thread(deeper into the interior of the pouch) and one that is not so straight and true. Most popeye pouches, the one with the scalloped-cut top, have very nice and neat straight seams. I am not trying to say that this pouch is not the real thing, just an oddity, probably made by a less talented seamstress. If I were interested in this box, I would ask for better images of the pouch, front back and a little shot of the interior as well but that is just me. I would expect to find a smooth side on the inside of this pouch regardless. As far as the box goes, there are no marble bruises/marks on the insert, an indication to me that it probably has not been handled too much.
