Kiwigal, that’s a battle worn veteran for sure. I’d suggest a Purple Heart at least. You could start a new thread called “Post your favorite BEAT UP marble” That would be a good one.

Akroorka , my new book lists an opaque beige with opaque green as some of the Ravenswood colors. I’d say hybrid too. Nice lookin marble

Had the day off and me and my daughter went antiquing. Found some very cool stuff plus this nice gem. I’m thinking it’s Christiansen, nine and tail. Tell me if I’m wrong. That’s a nice cut seam, I’m assuming from being hand gathered ? -
Chad G, if you get a good tube you’ve probably got a few more miles in that tire.

Welcome Caterpillar, have fun. Show us your scores too.

Checked the mail and look what showed up today. It may not be a rare out of circulation book that everyone’s after, but it’s some cool reading, and may just add some knowledge to my hobby. Best thing is the purchase was a donation to the West Virginia Museum of American glass. 👍 -
Took the pic a few days ago and now I can’t find the marble. 😩 I lost my marble. Oh well it’ll turn up. I’m thinking I got this one from Bumble bee in the Christmas drawing.

Now that’s what I’m talkin about. WOW !!

I wouldn’t call these the ultimate marble but they are sure nice. They’re made by Eddie Seese. The first is called a “ Rainbow”, the second is “Jellyfish field “ good” and the third is “Doctor feel good”. It looks like a bunch of marbles in side a bigger one. I looked at Dr. feel good so long I think I hypnotized myself. WOW

So I work with a guy who’s done it all and seen it all. You know , “The bigger, meaner, faster, better than you type. “We got to talking about snakes. He seen them all. Had several for pets and been bit by many and survived them all. After he had mesmerized us all, I asked him if he had ever seen a “Copper bellied rattle moccasin.” ……. “ No “, he said, “but I knew a guy who has one.” LOL. Now back to marbles. Does anybody now a guy who has the Ultimate Marble, you know like a handmade cateye slagpatch swirl or a transitional corkscrew UV brick shooter. If so let’s see some pics.

This Sunday I’ll show you the very first marble I bought. Very first marble period. Be blessed today 🙏

Chad, I feel Ya. I’ve had 7 or 8 of them. The last one had to be removed surgically. Not fun. Since then I drink at least two liters of water a day. My daughter also has had a few and she passed this one a few years back. She’s way tougher than I am.

This must have been a short shot of glass. Does it look like there was enough there to make a full round Marble. Had enough though to make a bellybutton.😂

Not sure this is a clam broth or peppermint twist and it’s really not halve but three quarter. It is my favorite broken marble.

I feel like that sometimes

So everyone here has one of these or at least seen one. My daughter and I hit some antique shops recently and I came across this Norman Rockwell, “Knuckles down”. I bet I walked around that place for two hours and on our way out I spotted it. Mr. Rockwell captured the moment perfectly. The two boys both have empty marble bags and the look on the face of the boy in the striped shirt is priceless. That obviously is his last marble. My daughter is a fiery redhead and I guarantee you she would take your last marble too. That’s my girl 😁 -
Well the manufacturing process makes sense. Adding certain components to help in the process of making products is used across the board. I work in a chemical factory that produces polycarbonate. It starts with salt, water, and huge amounts of electricity. Kind of like silica (sand) and huge amounts of heat to produce glass. It would blow your mind to know the ingredients and the processes in the end results of some plastics. So the glow of certain marbles is a result of trying to find cheap, easy and convenient ways to produce a product. The GLOW is a pleasant and surprising result that is discovered under a relatively new tool, the UV light. I wonder what will be invented next that will allow us to discover unseen phenomenons of already made products.
