OK back after a bit of running around and a sit down with my photo editor. No blue in my reds. Anyway, I am glad we didn't get too much else in comments on this since I made mistakes in the colors. It isn't black on white at all, it is a brown on 1 and purple on the other 4 I have, three of those look a brownish purple if there is such a color. Here is my mistaken colors on the black base. In hand they sure did look white and brown but they are white and purple again. I have 3 of these. ( 2 views ) Those aren't chips, that is the reflection of my windows and a reflection of the marble next to it. Now the white base translucent orange ones I have six of I think. The top left in this one may just belong by itself or with the red (hopefully CAC) ones shown below these orange ones. These, I have more doubt, as I deal with them during the day. Still I would like to identify them all for my own learning purposes. These are my red (no blue in the red) marbles with the opaque stripes. These are the ones that I got in a score with at least 30 for sure colored base CAC swirls. I think counting the one misplace in the photo above and these shown below, I think I have 10 in all. The marbles in question in a box lid. THANK YOU all who read and can help out.

Thank you for that response CharlieT. I measured the orange/white base swirls today and I find them to be slightly smaller than the 5/8th diameter CAC red/white base marbles. I think that the orange can be ruled out of the CAC question. I think I remember Ron Shepard mentioning the whiteness of the base color in swirls in Stephen Bahrs videos. I'll run across that video again. I do not think Ron was talking about CAC swirls when he pointed out how white those swirls were in the vid. Yes, your avatar image does look a lot like that one I posted. Is yours 5/8th inches? and What company do you lean toward as for an maker ID that is your less than 100% guess?

Looks like Irving to me on the second half. These are cool, look like tornados.

I have some very pretty, well made marbles that are same size as my confirmed CAC early swirl marbles but colors are telling me they may not be CAC. The Black base marbles have very bright white well defined white and adjacent brown swirls, these came in the same batch of very old marbles. On the other hand, I have some very nice white base marbles with very dark brown (almost black) swirls. I also have some snow white base quality marbles that have opaque red swirls, I know these are also CAC but I also have very white base quality marbles that have transparent orange swirls. So my questions are CAC swirls? If they are not CAC could somebody please ID for me. I have many swirl marbles, a few dozen have been pulled and set aside because they have a great white base color and stood out in the crowd. I am trying to learn what cannot be done 100%, I know, but I would like to be able to say that this one is Alley or this one is Ravenswood with some knowledge behind it someday. I thought these posted might be real good ones. Well, regardless, they are real good ones to me anyway.

Thanks, boy o boy, I could see how collecting these Vacors seriously could be compared to hitting the stores for the latest Hot Wheels. I just wanted a smattering. I guess you are supposed to keep em in the bag. Not sure I can do that. I hope the nets are just tied in a knot. I would keep the cards and nets.

First off, I think calling these Vacor might be OK with marble people but I think Mega Marbles might be more appropriate. To make things more complicated, I think these are also in the niche of Marbles made in Mexico by Vacor for sale in the USA and with the round tags rather than square, I believe these are named "Top Notch". I am just guessing that they are the most recent distribution from south of the border. I have not seen them yet but I will not be disappointed if they lack the pizazz of their earlier versions. I just suspect these will be a bit lesser quality. These have nicknames attached to the type. For example Roosters are named Rocky Rooster on the tags. So am I correct in my understanding of these round tag net bags? I got all of these at a great price. I think there may be 22 bags but at least 20 in this picture. I think I got about 4 singles a lot of doubles and maybe a triple on a couple? Hard to tell. Anyway, from what I can make out, are the issues included. Drake the Dragon Henry Hobbit Lil Devil Camo Bee Cool Bobby Bengal Tiger Rex the Dinosaur Rocky Rooster Bennie Blue Jay Oceana the Mermaid Marbleman Superhero These are my first Vacors but I might have one or three singles in my collection until they arrive. I think I might have a couple serpents.

Welcome to Marble Connection. and Happy New Year May I suggest you back your camera up a few more inches and see how much clearer your images are. I see two old small brown glazed Bennington marbles but cannot help with the red and yellow.

Hi, I'd like to say welcome to the MarbleConnection site but I don't know who made your neat trio. Somebody will soon enough.

Sure, if you want. Post them Germans davesnothere I'm still sold on mine being a very intricate German. As far as the holes being slightly larger on the plastic protractor, I like that. You know, I watch even the best marbles get measured by others with the steel calipers and it makes me cringe a bit. I fear that the steel will scratch the glass. I do have those digital calipers that gives me hundredth's of an inch but not fractions. So my measurements have been about 1/10th 3/10th 6/10th 7/10th 9/10th etc. If my marbles falls through the hole onto a soft surface, I'll settle for the smallest size it fell through.

I picture my shooters and boulders in the bleachers displayed like this on a grid of evenly spaced holders. The steps and holders will probably get secured with glue and spray painted a flat color. The holders will disappear and the washers will just dress things up a bit. I have to figure where I'm going to put it, or put it in so I know the dimensions and step count and color. This will be a project for later but I will update here.

I have these covers for my insulin needles. They have a stem about the same width as the washers. They remind me of golf tees. I think I'll cut and glue steps together. The largest and deepest being the base and make several more so that there are maybe 6 or 7 high. Maybe 3/4 thick. I'll have to go over the neighbors and use his drill press so I get the holes drilled just right. I'll come back here and update but don't hold your breath. Thanks for the response. Isn't it all just a bunch of fun?

My 100 count box of finishing washers I bought was leaky but the only one in the surplus store. There was still 95 in it. Then I got these stainless steel flat washers with 1/4 in holes. Got a lot of them, maybe a couple / few hundred. I think everything cost me about $7.50. Marbles sit nicely in them and stay put. I am going to build a little display with these. Well, now . . . wasn't that exciting?

I would have assumed it was a swirl, a common but pretty one as titled. I have a number of them in a few colors that look a lot like it.
