Good morning everyone, Happy Akro Friday! 1. Baby Blue and Red Prize Name, a little more unusual color combo 5/8" 2. Orange and White Snake with that Blue line 3. Yellow and Orange Prize Name 9/16" 4. Orange broken cork on a translucent base 5. Cobalt and Eggyolk Swirl on a UV base, larger than 15/16", smaller than 1". I don't have many Cobalt on UV base Akros. The first four are older photos before I got a macro lens and before I started putting the size of the marble in the description 😕 I'll dig the marbles out this weekend and add the sizes.

Oh gosh, don't apologize or be embarrassed. Taking photos of very small, highly reflective glass orbs will never be easy, it's a continuous and never-ending learning experience

It is a corkscrew, I would say this is an Akro Prize Name.

Wow, thank you Ric, much appreciate you asking for my opinion on this, truly. I've seen a lot of Akro marbles with Orange and Blue or Yellow and Blue, and a few Orange and Yellow, but not many of all three colors together. I want to say that this is a harder to find color combination, and awesome that you have two of them I would call this one a Special in a harder to find color combination. -Jess

Agree, not an Akro. Looks large, what size is it? Also, as to the Cadmium - there are others here who know a lot more than I do about glass content. But I think that Cadmium glass glows Orange under a black light?

Akro Friday! 1. Just a brilliant Orange on a translucent bubbly base 5/8" 2. Orange and Blue, there's that thin blue stripe 5/8" 3. A Green Perfection and a harder to find larger size 23/32" 4. This one is very unusual, Orange cork on a Blue transparent base, but the internal structure is what mesmerizes me 21/32" 5. Orange with a little bit of transparent Brown on bubbles 19/32"

Wow, that's such great information John, thank you for sharing, I can almost see it dropping from the punty and forming on the rollers. So in the short time it took to cut it and landing on the rollers it had cooled enough maintain the loop structure that it formed on the rollers? Am I understanding that correctly? That's amazing! I will definitely keep it close, when Felicia sent it to me, she also said that the donuts or Loops were pretty rare -Jess

Agree. All good points. And that is my go to as well Ric. For now, my collection is for me and I collect what I like, some of my favorites are far, far from pristine condition. What I love to find now are marbles that look like they were made in the same batch or very near to marbles that I already own, what a treat that is. I guess my reason for being here is to share my Akro photos for the new collectors, I get so much joy in finding the nuances in the color combinations.

A little late for Akro Friday, but here we go: 1. One of my favorite things is to see surface texture of the flow of the glass, but this surface texture seems to always come with annealing fractures. I think I could probably call this a Blood and Bones. 5/8" 2. A Spiral, a very light Blue on a very light Amber base, I found these two probably 12 years apart. 3. Red and Royal Blue, these two were not found together either, but they sure look like they were in the same batch. I love the intense color and larger size 3/4" 4. Canary Yellow and Blue corkscrew, the Blue is very thin and just on the surface, making it appear that the base glass is Blue, it is not, the base is clear glass. 19/32" 5. A harder to find baby Blue Snake 6. This one looks nothing like the marbles in photo 3, but also a Red and Blue cork, I like to see the differences between same color Akro marbles. 5/8" I like your idea about explaining Art, I did my best here.
