I'm liking this collection so far!

Awesome, I'd love to see it at a show, it's a great mystery! -Jess

In the first photo below, if you look at just the top row, and focus on the Blue, it's definitely a corkscrew. But if you look at just the bottom row, same marble, and focus on the yellow, it does that switchback in your marble, Bruce. And the Limeade below, it also has that switchback, and the fold-over that it looks like I'm seeing in your backlit photo (included below as well) I don't have a clear answer on corkscrew or not, but I thought I'd throw my two cents in here. I think Akro on yours Bruce.

Wow, I sure would have considered that one polished immediately, clearly I don't know enough about handmades Thank you for sharing that, even though I don't collect handmades, that is very good to know! Edit: I meant to quote Ron

These are great, thank you! I especially like the surface is very spherical and slippery, that is a great tell tale sign, it's the first thing I try to look at, but still haven't gotten that skill down. And since you mentioned it, I once received an oxblood that was polished that I need to find and share here, it was very clearly altered. -Jess

Marble Alan's Website Update & New Address

Thank you Craig! I ❤️ this! -
I received both this Popeye and Limeade as polished, the seller listed each as a buffed or polished, so I wasn't duped, I bought them to use as a reference. They're very nice marbles, but I like to know when I'm buying a buffed or polished marble, doesn't hurt to spread the knowledge. The easiest thing for me to identify as polished is how the wispy white ends unnaturally and kind of jaggedly, more easily seen on the Popeye Does anyone else have any good pictures of buffed/polished marbles? Or have any other tell-tale signs? Thanks, -Jess

I've had that same bug bite for about 16 years, and the only relief is fresh Akros

Different. A lot of the black streaks found in Oxblood, and very little Oxblood Just a hair under 5/8"

My thoughts too! Especially with that odd 'cobra neck' shape in the Blue cork on both (or cobra hood, is that what they're called? Not a marble term, the actual snake in the wild, a King Cobra). I like the idea that these two marbles have probably been together for a hundred years, pretty cool to think about. Thanks Chad!

Oh no! I'm sorry you have to buy more marbles! Gosh, that sounds terrible I love the Snakes! thank you for sharing

Here's another late one to add. It has a duller, pocketwear surface, but also the surface texture. Not sure why that bottom left photo turned out so much more vivid than the other photos, maybe that's what all the photos would look like with a tripod? I like the Ivory color, thought it was unusual enough to add here.

Love!!

It's a great day for marblin' I see you beat me to it Chad! Fantastic Akros above, I especially like that Yellow snake. Spirals are my favorite. One thing about this lens, it makes pocket wear look like major damage, these look fine in hand. - A Red, Blue, and Green on Orange cork 21/32" - A light Blue cork on Brown with a metallic surprise I had no idea was there until these photos 19/32"

Nice glower there! And I love striated clear glass. The lens itself is a 15x macro, there is also the digital zoom on the phone. The first photo below is the lens, the second and third are the digital zoom on my camera. I'm sure it would probably be clearer if I used a tripod though *Edit to add size: 19/32"

So much Oxblood! I just received a new one yesterday, thought it would go nicely with ALL yours 11/16"

I will take your advise on the Akro ware I spend enough on mibs. Beauties all, Chad, your 'basic' Akros I love them! In my mind, they're all almost a hundred years old, and were designed to be children's toys. I am charmed by all of them. Here is a new addition to my collection, there is so much going on with it I won't even try to give it an identifying name. I'm really just happy to call it mine lol. UV, corkscrew, Eggyolk, inky Blue, and it was sold to me as an Oxblood, which I'm cool with given the opaqueness in the Black light photo, there's at least a stripe of it.

Ron, thank you for the description of mixing glasses/colors, always appreciate learning new information. I’m throwing this out here, I'm guessing that this grayish muddy clay color would be one of the undesired reactions caused by incompatible glass or colors mixing? -Jess

That Brown and Blue is amazing!! I've never seen one like it. -Jess

But definitely enjoying your photos! I see you both have the vase with the mini hand, that really caught my attention. I wonder if that is a mold of a child's hand, very neat and unique.
