  1. So this afternoon YouTube 'suggested' the video "The First 12 Minutes of MTV" and that got me back into an 80s music kick, my music as a teenager. I started a playlist, but I spent three hours making this list and I feel like I'm not even halfway there. Here it is: Kiss Me Deadly Lita Ford Close My Eyes Forever Lita Ford and Ozzy Silent Lucidity Queensryche Twilight Zone Golden Earring Pour Some Sugar on Me Def Leppard Panama Van Halen Don’t You Forget About Me Simple Minds Boys of Summer Don Henley The Final Countdown White Snake No One Like You Scorpions One Metallica Enter Sandman Metallica Crazy for You Madonna Lucky Star Madonna Live to Tell Madonna Never Heart These Dreams Heart Two of Hearts Stacey Q West End Girls Pet Shop Boys Wild Wild West The Escape Club Fight for Your Right Beastie Boys Gangsters Paradise Coolio Heart and Soul T’Pau We Built This City Starship Love Bites Def Leppard Once Bitten Twice Shy Great White Save Your Love Great White Keep Your Hands to Yourself Georgia Satellites Ship of Fools Robert Plant Addicted to Love Robert Palmer Glory of Love Peter Cetera Right Here Waiting Richard Marx Everything I Do I Do it for You Bryan Adams Summer of 69 Bryan Adams Heaven Bryan Adams Run to You Bryan Adams Red Red Wine UB40 Candle in the Wind Elton John Talk Dirty to Me Poison We Didn’t Start the Fire Billy Joel Piano Man Billy Joel Dancing with Myself Billy Idol White Wedding Billy Idol U Can’t Touch This MC Hammer Thriller Michael Jackson Careless Whisper George Michael Everybody Wants to Rule the World Tears for Fears Crazy for You Madonna St. Elmo’s Fire John Parr Neutron Dance The Pointer Sisters Never Surrender Corey Hart Sunglasses at Night Corey Hart Cruel Summer Banarama Venus Banarama Raspberry Beret Prince Material Girl Madonna Born in the USA Bruce Springsteen 99 Luft Ballons Nena Puttin on the Ritz Taco Sweet Dreams Eurythmics Rock Me Amadeus Falco Land of Confusion Genesis Take on Me a-ha Troy Sinead O’Connor Footloose Kenny Loggins Girls Just Want to Have Fun Cyndi Lauper Talking in Your Sleep The Romantics Self Control Laura Branigan Somebody’s Watching Me Rockwell The Warrior Scandal (Patty Smyth) Rock Me Great White Face the Day Great White The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald Gordon Lightfoot Money for Nothing Dire Straits You Dropped a Bomb on Me The Gap Band Cum on Feel the Noize Quiet Riot On the Dark Side John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band Major Tom (Coming Home) Peter Schilling The Stroke Billy Squier Everytime You Go Away Paul Young Gonna Make You Sweat C&C Music Factory The Search is Over Survivor Obsession Animotion Better Be Good to Me Tina Turner Head Over Heels Tears For Fears Voices Carry Til Tuesday Would I Lie to You Eurythmics Be Near Me ABC I Can’t Hold Back Survivor I’m on Fire Bruce Springsteen Method of Modern Love Daryl Hall & John Oates All She Wants to do is Dance Don Henley Black Velvet Alannah Myles When I’m With You Sheriff Electric Avenue Eddy Grant Into the Night Benny Mardones Beds Are Burning Midnight Oil Break My Stride Matthew Wilder Too Shy Kajagoogoo Come On Eileen Dexys Midnight Runners Fantasy Aldo Nova Under the Milky Way The Church She’s like the Wind Patrick Swayze Harden My Heart Quarter Flash Always Atlantic Starr Don’t You Want Me The Human League Human The Human League It was definitely fun to search these songs and see some of the music videos again, but wow, blast from the past. Anybody else relate to this list? Or what was your preferred era/style/decade of music? I could probably sing 97% of the lyrics of these songs. Sorry for the length of the list! -Jess
  2. Omgosh, the babies are SO CUTE! I love their little feathery legs, and it looks like their beak stays the same size into adulthood 😆😍
  3. Yellow and Blue Prize Names: 1. A very busy Blue on Yellow with a lot of eyelashes and a bonus cat fur in the first photo at the 7 o'clock position 😕 5/8" 2. Another very busy Blue and Yellow 9/16" 3. 11/16" 4. Transparent Blue on Yellow 23/32" The variations of Akro with just two colors 😍
  4. And then Blues, Blues, and Blues: 1. Blue, Blue, and Blue 9/16" Special 2. Blue, Blue, and wispy White on clear 21/32" Popeye 3. Blue on Blue with Oxblood 9/16" 4. Blue on Blue with some Cobalt 11/16" Special 5. Blue on Blue with White 5/8" Special
  5. For the best day of the week 🤩 : Three White based Specials: All three 5/8"
  6. I have always wanted an orrery! A mechanical model of our solar system, I think they are so cool 🤓
  7. For what it's worth, I think you're doing a great job as a moderator Art.
  8. Omgosh davesnothere! This was a fantastic video. Outside of the marbles, I loved your music selection, literally had me be-bopping at my desk. Very fun, looking forward to more if you're doing them
  9. 😆 FANTASTIC photos! 🏆 I should have said in my original post though, thank you for sharing the AV Zebra, good information.
  10. That Brown base is really cool VaMarbles! Superboy The second one looks like English bacon or prosciutto 😋I guess it's time for breakfast. Two cool Pelts imo.
  11. Chad, these photos are amazing 🤓 😮
  12. Thank you both. I'm always learning Edit: This one will be saved as an Akro, I was thinking possibly a Master only because of the brown. I'm always hopeful for an Akro . Are you guys saying the AV is dense enough to cause it to look brown?
  13. I'm guessing this is a Master? It looks like it might have brown under that AV, which is the only reason that I'm thinking it might be Master. 23/32"
  14. Absolutely! Please keep posting, a lot of us (me) are learning right along with you Marblemanvintagemarbles
  15. If it is an egg-yolk, it's an extremely pale egg-yolk
  16. Wow! No kidding! 🧐 Very cool Alley, thank you for sharing Ric.
  17. Thank you Ric! I do think of the off-white as a separate color and it is mostly sitting on the surface, but I'm not sure I'd call these Specials, or Prize Names for the ones that have only Blue and White or Blue and Yellow. To be honest I can't really think of an official name for these types other than they are on a translucent base. They were a favorite of mine early on. That smokey base almost looks like some kind of Ade base to me, but it doesn't glow. The smoky base one is top left, and the bottom middle of the group on the right, that base does glow ! Ahhh Akro, full of surprises. I'd love to see the Alley! I have one marble that looks similar to these colors but I'm not comfortable calling it an Akro, the Blue is more transparent inky Blue rather than the Colbalt. And I'm trying to get more familiar with other marbles Finally.
  18. 1. I love the two Blues together with the off-white on translucent base 21/32" 2. Cobalt and wispy White on translucent 11/16" 3. Orange, transparent Red, White, and Green. The Green runs through the center of the marble, seam to seam. 4. Orange, transparent Red, and White 21/32"
  19. Oh no. . . . . I'm not, not at all. I've only focused on Akro.
  20. In the second OP photo, I can see a cork outline in the solid Orange here:
  21. Hmmm, I can see arguments for both, but I see an organization to the patterns of the glass in the OP marbles that I just don't see in Jabo, but in all fairness, I do not know Jabo.
  22. I'll throw a monkey wrench in here . . . I can see why you are thinking Akro, VaMarbles, especially in the left marble in the first and third photos, and the right marble in the third photo. I can see the wrap around at the seams, I don't know a better or more technical term than that. I have two photos of Akros that I'd like to share here that makes me think yours are Akro. The first one, is a very lazy cork that share the colors of yours and shows how the wide flat cork looks at the seams. The second one is also a very wide cork that shows the pattern of what I'm trying to describe as the wrap around at the seam of a wide lazy cork, the two photos on the right. -Jess
  23. I love that she had marbles in her purse when you first met her, and that you made sure from then on that you had some with you in case you ran in to her ❤️ It seems like her son would be happy knowing that her collection went to someone who could appreciate not just the marbles, but her collection. This is such a great hobby.
