  1. Might need another view, but i am with Euro.
  2. Akro Miller machine swirls. Maybe they were Akro Miller machine slags or patches ?
  3. I have no idea what a spinner machine is ??? Akro had a spinner cup attachment to a machine or machines that made corks. I do not know of any marble machines in Washington. If you try to make a pee wee on a 3/4 machine. The gap at the bottom of the rolls will allow even the small glob of glass to fall through the gap onto the floor or catch pan below the rolls. You cannot go up or down more than one size than the actual roll opening size and keep steady quality marbles. The glass glob needs to fit the roll gap,to much and roll marks as the marble rides above the roll flights edges. To little and roll marks, out of round egg shaped etc.. The glob wobbels in the groove of the roll. All kinds of problems if the glass glob does not fit the roll groove bouncing sticking together etc.. Plus the glass glob or marble should not set in the very bottom of the goove. It should ride smoothly on the sides of the grooves near the bottom of the rolls. Not as simple as it looks. Think it is then just run a machine for 8 hours even 4 hours. But get ready to sweat.
  4. There are and has to be similar looking or what some call same run marbles. I am just not sure how we know which ones for sure were made what day or what order. Most companies ran 24hrs a day 7 days a week. Were the two above made the same day and on the same machine ? They look a lot different in size. I could see those two above being made the same day or different days maybe years ? The larger one even looks like a slightly different yellow. What is the defination of a run ? Is it one day,was it 24 hrs,is it one color combination,is it one machine ? Where was the start and end of a vinatge run ? If Akro made Popeyes for five days,is each different color combination a different run ? Or was it a five day run of popeyes ? If it was a five day run there would be a lot of same run. Can some define run for vinatge marble companies production ??????
  5. Jabo had machine sizes for 3/8 pee wee,9/16,5/8,3/4,one inch and probably others. The same for Marble KIng or more variety of sizes and numbers of machines. Some of the Akro machines ended up at Marble KIng,according to Beri Fox. They are still at MK most in the parts grave yard. Vitro had machine sizes for 5/16 and probably every size up to 1 1/4 inch which belonged to House of Marbles. Most of the old Vitro machines ended up at Jabo. One old Vitro machine size 11/16 is at Sammy Hogue's now. Peltier had pee wee size and probaby up to one inch size machines. Different size machines at Jabo. Peltier pee wee machine. I could add lots more pics but only allowed two.
  6. Did Akro make all the Blue and Yellow Popeyes in one single same run ? Did they make them for only one week, one month or one year ? I have seen Jabos made two or three years apart that look the exact same to me. Were all the Ravenswood Blue Ravens or other distinct types colors combinations made during one run ?
  7. I do not think the US goverment would have sent free marble machines to Japan or Germany after WWII. Where would the goverment have got the machines ? Most of the vintage machines were designed and bulit by or for marble company owners or by a employee. Some or those machines designs were guarded like formulas were. At least for a good time period. Many machines or parts of had patents to secure or have the exclusive right to make or use. Why would be the need of a patent if the US were shipping them to Japan or Germany ? Competition for glass was high during WWII and after among marble companies. Most machine operators will not put up with dull shears very long. They would be changed or sharpened to cause less problems. Not exported to the US. Then how did so many end up in the US ? I am not sure that all the transitional style marbles were made in Japan and Germany on US built machines and none of the marbles exported to the US. I also think most of the transitional type were made pre WWII.
  8. With the majority of vintage machines. You cannot make quality pee wees on a one inch machine. You can make steady quality marbles on the same size machine going up or down a size but not large differences in the size of the rollers, shears etc.
  9. Each side of the note is different ink and handwritting. Maybe nothing at all ????? I do not know anything 100% for sure with this marble or the other so called exotics.
  10. The other side of the same note. I agree colbalt yellow might equal green. The marble is green. Mike Art Cambridge OH
  11. The note came in the bag with the marble.
  12. Could the numbers have anything to do with the colors of this marble ?
  13. I am not sure if it was 652 and then 632 ? Also is it Blue or Black ?
  14. Ignore the 21/32 size. That may come into play later.
  15. Well i have stayed quiet on this. But since Griff added a little. I will add some. I am no machine marble maker and i am no torch marble maker and i sure cannot hand gather. But i have been around all of the above for several years now. Maybe John or someone will know what this note below means ? Do the numbers ahead of the colors indicate a certian color and glass supplier ?
  16. I am inspired ! I have heard lots of different stories every year since these were first sold by a select few and most sold to a select few. You almost needed a invitation to see them for sale. They sure looked nice then and now. I admit that i have a few but not from the original dealers back in the day. I talked with and knew some of the original dealers but nobody that made the actual or original find. I have no proof or seen any proof either way just hearsay and some interesting stories. But i am always willing to listen to another story. I don't think the horse is dead yet. I have plenty of popcorn.
