Sorry to hear of your medical problems. Glad you are bouncing back to normal,we hope. I am not bouncing,limping,but walking again. I spent the last five months on crutches,after breaking my heel bad. It is good to have use of my hands again. There is a few different colors combinations of the older green/red MK patches. The patches seem almost as rare as the watermelon.

Lawrence (Larry) Alley III said his book is almost complete. It will not be a identification guide to Alley marbles. It will include marbles,childrens dishes,glass animals,etc.,but it will be a lot about the family history,his grandfather,father and his self. It should be ready to publish this fall. There will be some interesting information in it. Like one item may be a detailed list of everything that Marble King purchased from Lawerence Alley. Larry spent a little over a week here finishing up some more research for the book. He was pleased when he left,plus he had a good time. I have a lot of pictures,but i can only load three at a time here,and they are small. I have many detailed pictures of the original Alley Salesman sample case. Lots of pictures of the different Chinese Checker marbles by Alley. Some of these are unusal colors and swirls. I also have 300 pictures of a recent Alley marble dig at Pennsboro WV. I don't have time to load three pictures at a time per post,thats 100 post. There is no way that i know which ones to post?

You may have to hire a guide as i also hear that it takes a good captian to not hang up the down riggers. Hope you have good weather. Tell the other three i said Hello. Akro spinner cup,made of graphite,so the glass does not stick to it. The ones i have seen had two letters or initials stamped or cut into each one. I am not sure what the letters were for? Maybe they were issued to each operator?

The in room trading or buying and selling usually starts thursday and fridays before the saturday show day. The evening hours can be the best. Friday nights used to be the best but the last couple years,thursday night has become the busy night. I think most people found out that if they waited until friday and went back after a certian item,that it was usually sold and gone. Lots of people prefer the two days in room dealing,over the actual show day. It gives you more time to learn about different marbles and spend time getting to know other collectors. Plus you have more time to look at marbles and make your picks or deals. The hotel at Marietta OH may be full of all the rooms blocked for the WVMCC spring show? Do not wait to make a reservation if it is yet possible. There is also a Holiday Inn just across the street from the Comfort Inn at Marietta OH. We had several first time show people last spring,they all told me that they were coming back. We had over two complete floors booked last year. We blocked more rooms this year,but maybe not enough yet ? This years WVMCC show is dedicated to Marble KIng and their long history with marbles. I agree with Peltier. But,i have never had it in hand? Just another opinion. Mistakes are made. Even Brian is not perfect. We are all human. A Sureshot box with 100% Alley marbles listed as Heaton Agate marbles.
