hdesousa
My wife found this marble taped onto the back of a ceramic giraffe at a second hand store. Best figure I've ever seen.

Gnome Punter
I think it is modern. The detail is through the roof It is sharp
SNYD
Looks newer but it could have been altered to look older, some folks do weird things to make fake sulphides seem to look like they are old. The glass looks way to new though. SNYD
greg11
someone went through a lot of work to get this detail. I dont know anyone making such detailed sulphides, even the germans, cool find, what an odd way to find a marble.
gjbkrb
All my old sulphide that are clear glass and from Germany turn a yellow-green under a black light. What does this one do?
I'llhavethat1
Is it even glass??
hdesousa
Is it even glass?? OK, you got it. It's plastic. But fooled me for awhile, until I unwrapped it. This marble however, was also found in a Goodwill store, priced at US$1. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-GERMAN-2-034-Inch-Handmade-ONIONSKIN-MARBLE-4-Panel-Lobed-MICA-FLAKES-Large-/171483790956

I'llhavethat1
OK, you got it. It's plastic. But fooled me for awhile, until I unwrapped it. Yeah the detail on the figure looked a little too good to be true. Any guesses where/when it was made. Can't say I've seen one before.
hdesousa
Yeah the detail on the figure looked a little too good to be true. Any guesses where/when it was made. Can't say I've seen one before. Was wondering that myself. Have not seen one before either. It's really well made in the style and size of an antique sulphide - given I know nothing of the plastic process - appropriate and detailed figure, centered and no bubbles. Can't say I've seen one before. Here's the same figure again. Bet it's plastic. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OLD-SULPHIDE-GERMAN-MARBLE-WITH-ANGEL-ENCLOSED-/262186280231

I'llhavethat1
Very possible! I still appreciate the figure and the level of detail, but this one doesn't look as round. Merry Christmas
bumblebee
Speaking of Goodwill, hoping the person who paid $487 for these got their money's worth.
