Steph
?? I'm pretty sure not MFC. Do I have that much right? But who did?
VTAndrea
Akro used a lot of vaseline glass, so that would be my guess.
slagmarble
Peltier and Christensen Agate have it in two flavors, Akro has it in one. Edit: I've also got a Vaseline with identical construction to the Canadian 2 color opaques...take from that what you will.

Steph
Oh yes, who had it at the handgathered stage of their operations?
slagmarble
Potentially all of them but if Peltier did I have no idea how you'd identify it, the rest are really obvious. All the slag colors I know of can be found handgathered.

bumblebee
And to dovetail that, did those makers all make 1" vaseline slags? I've never seen anything above a 7/8" vaseline but then again I only recently found a 1" slag in another color.
slagmarble
Akro and Christensen yes, peltier probably not
I'llhavethat1
By 'Vaseline' are we talking about the color alone? Or does it need to react to UV? slagmarble
If I remember right this also has "sick" glass and will take on a strong vinegar smell from time to time. I didn't notice it today and have also not noticed any new damage because of it but I'm also not looking at it under a microscope. It has the same not entirely smoothed out cutline I'd expect for the type that I did my best to photograph but didn't come out the greatest. akronmarbles
Vaseline slag fragments and pieces of scrap glass - found inside the former MFC factory building. Left bottom row even contains some oxblood. Made sometime between Sept 12th, 1915 and December 10th, 1917. Barberton Glass Novelty also made melted pontil "vaseline slags". Steph
Experimenting? Any reason to think it made it out into the wild?
winnie
Some Japanese slags have vaseline glass aswell. 2 pic- of the same marbles.

akronmarbles
I am not sure how many vaseline slags MFC created. I know they melted some uranium glass for sure at least once.
