schmoozer
Love the sharks tooth! My grandfather was a geologist, spent many summers digging fossils. he taught at UNM from 1931 to 1968. He was the first civilian to access the trinity bomb site at White Sands to collect samples of âTrinititeâ, also called Atomsite. The siteâs sand fused into glass. He was supposed to use it for research and the University museum, but my grandmother got hold of a batch and made paperweights for the family. Encased it in resin. Iâll dig mine out and take a pic. 1

Still looking for the paperweight.. the round rock is obsidian, weathered most likely in a River. I was positive it was a meteorite when I found it at a garage saleðĨī the wall display is a plaster cast of the original discovery fossil. My grandfather got to name it, hence the âNorthropiâ in the name. Â found the sharks tooth display years ago, had to have it for $10.

Your grandfather being involved in everything that you spoke of, that's just incredible! That tooth display, are those Megalodon teeth? What's the length and depth?
